Because those dates have passed, this is an archive of the lineup Apple announced in September 2025—not a current release calendar.
Apple also announced a Metalhead update for TMNT Splintered Fate on September 30, 2025. That was an update to an existing game, not a fifth October launch.

Apple Arcade October 2025 release dates
| Date | Game | Type |
|---|---|---|
| October 2, 2025 | Thomas & Friends: Let’s Roll+ | Family-friendly train game |
| October 2, 2025 | Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+ | Classic tabletop game |
| October 2, 2025 | Piffle+ | Cat-themed brick-breaker puzzle game |
| October 16, 2025 | NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition | Basketball game |
Apple’s App Store editorial announcement grouped these four titles as its October additions. The company’s NBA 2K26 announcement confirmed the October 16 launch date and described the wider lineup.
NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition was the headline release
NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition was the biggest-name addition in the October schedule. Apple and Visual Concepts highlighted NBA Eras, a mode built around different periods in NBA history, including historic teams, drafts, championships, and roster changes.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
The game also launched with updated rosters reflecting recent NBA moves, according to Apple’s announcement. That description applies to the launch presentation; roster data and any live elements can change over time.
For players who prefer a created athlete, MyCAREER lets you build a player and take that character online. The announcement also cited MyCourt multiplayer, including one-on-one and two-on-two games. Apple additionally described player-creation templates based on notable NBA stars.
It is important not to treat this as a direct equivalent of the full console or PC release. “Arcade Edition” identifies Apple Arcade’s version and its particular feature set; the announcement does not establish feature parity with console or PC editions, nor does it provide an independent performance assessment.
Best fit: NBA fans who want a substantial sports game on Apple devices, especially those interested in historical teams, roster updates, a career-created player, and online multiplayer.

- TMR Sticks: The G7 Pro features GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, combining Hall Effect durability with traditional potentiometer performance. This advanced technology delivers stable polling rates for smooth, drift-free gaming with low power consumption.

- GameSir Nexus App: The G7 Pro is compatible with the upgraded GameSir Nexus app, which brings a significant upgrade over the original. It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
The three games released on October 2
Thomas & Friends: Let’s Roll+
Developed by StoryToys, Thomas & Friends: Let’s Roll+ is aimed at younger players and families. Its simple two-button controls are designed to make driving around the Island of Sodor approachable, while the train-focused gameplay keeps the premise easy to understand.
The standout feature is Track Builder. Players can create scenic routes and decorate them with elements such as waterfalls, plants, and farms. That gives the game a creative construction component in addition to simply guiding a train along a track.
Best fit: Families and young children who want simple controls and a themed building activity rather than a complex simulation.
Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+
Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+, from MobilityWare, is the most straightforward addition of the three October 2 releases. It includes the All Fives and Draw modes, covering both score-focused play and a more traditional dominoes format.
Rank #3
- Versatile compatibility: supports Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One X/S consoles and PC Win10 and above (including the game platform Steam).
- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
Daily goals add a reason to return. One example is reaching a specified score during an All Fives game. This is a focused casual game rather than a large-scale original production, making it a natural choice for short sessions.
Best fit: Players who want a familiar tabletop game, quick rounds, and simple daily objectives.
Piffle+
Developed by Mighty Games and Hipster Whale, Piffle+ combines a cat theme with brick-breaker puzzle mechanics. Players fling cat-faced balls at obstacles, using power-ups to help clear stages.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

The TMNT update was separate from the October launches
TMNT Splintered Fate received a Metalhead update on September 30, 2025. Metalhead was added as a playable character, but the timing matters: the update arrived before October and should not be counted as one of the four new games in Apple’s October announcement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What Apple Arcade included
Apple described Apple Arcade in the announcement as a catalog of more than 200 games with no ads and no in-app purchases. The October 2025 lineup therefore offered a subscription-based way to play these Apple Arcade editions without buying each game separately or encountering monetization inside the Arcade versions.
That does not mean the games were free without a subscription. It also does not mean similarly named versions outside Apple Arcade have the same commercial model. The no-ads and no-in-app-purchases description applies to the Apple Arcade editions.
Best Value
- Multi-Platform PC Gaming Controller: Working with Switch, PC, Android, and iOS devices via Bluetooth, wired, and wireless dongle connections.
- Hall Effect Joysticks: Delivering enhanced recentering performance for smoother control and superior anti-drift capability. Plus, with anti-friction rings.
- 2-Way Trigger Lock: With trigger stops, gamers can toggle between short and long pull positions. Additionally, gamers can activate hair trigger mode by pressing M+LT/RT (triggers must be in the long pull position).
- 1000Hz Polling Rate: This ensures that your inputs are registered almost instantaneously, minimizing lag and maximizing your performance during competitive play.
- Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.
Apple said a subscription could be shared with a family group of up to six people. Availability still depends on the title, country, device, and software compatibility.
Which Apple devices supported the games?
Apple’s platform descriptions distinguish between game categories. Arcade Originals were described as playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, while App Store Greats were listed for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. Individual title pages and device requirements remain the final authority.
Readers should not assume that every game in the October lineup worked on every Apple device. Hardware, operating-system versions, regional availability, and title-specific compatibility can all affect access. A release date announced by Apple also does not guarantee that every region or device received a game at precisely the same local time.
Was Apple Arcade worth subscribing to for this lineup?
The answer depended on how broadly you planned to use the catalog. NBA fans interested in NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition had the clearest reason to look at the service, particularly if they also expected to play other Apple Arcade titles. Families could find more value in combining Thomas & Friends with the wider catalog, while Dominoes and Piffle were easier to view as supplementary casual games than as sole reasons to subscribe.
Apple Arcade pricing is country-specific and changes over time. Apple’s Canadian newsroom version of the 2025 announcement listed CAD $8.99 per month, while earlier U.S. Apple material listed US $6.99 per month with a one-month trial. Those were prices advertised in 2025, not confirmed August 2026 prices. Check the current Apple Arcade page before subscribing.
Apple One may make more sense for readers who already use Apple Music, Apple TV+, iCloud+, or the other services in the bundle. Its value depends on using those services as well; someone who wants only games should compare the current bundle and standalone prices rather than assuming the bundle is cheaper.
Bottom line
Apple Arcade’s October 2025 lineup was led by NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, which brought NBA Eras, updated launch rosters, MyCAREER, and MyCourt multiplayer to Apple’s subscription service. Three lighter games—Thomas & Friends: Let’s Roll+, Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+, and Piffle+—arrived on October 2, giving families and casual players more accessible options. The nearby TMNT Splintered Fate update was related news, but not an October game launch.
