The closest supported control is the in-game Graphics Quality setting: switch Graphics Mode to Manual, then move the quality slider to the right to favor visual detail or to the left to favor performance.
How to adjust graphics quality in Roblox

Join the Roblox experience you want to play.

Open the in-experience menu by clicking the Roblox logo in the upper-left corner or pressing Esc.

Select Settings.

Change Graphics Mode from Automatic to Manual.

Move the Graphics Quality slider to the right for higher visual quality, or to the left for lower quality and a lighter workload on your device.

Click Resume or press Esc to return to the experience.

This is Roblox’s documented player-side graphics control. Roblox describes Automatic mode as device-managed and Manual mode as player-controlled; it does not promise that a higher setting will produce a particular render distance in every experience. See Roblox Support: Graphics Quality.
Why objects may still disappear at a distance
The graphics slider is not a universal distance override. Roblox Creator Hub documents rendering and optimization behavior—including distance-based model detail and avatar optimization—that can affect what appears in an experience. Those are engine and creator-side controls, not additional player settings. An experience may therefore continue to limit or simplify distant objects even when Graphics Quality is high. Choose between visual detail and smoother performance

For more visual detail: use Manual mode and move Graphics Quality right. This favors quality, but does not guarantee that every distant object will render.

For smoother play on a struggling device: move the slider left. Roblox says lower graphics levels reduce some image quality and make the device work less, which may improve the experience. Its creator documentation describes Performance levels 1–3, Balanced levels 4–7, and Quality levels 8–10 as optimization modes; these are developer-facing details, not evidence of a separate mode selector in every player client. For Automatic mode: Roblox manages graphics quality based on the device, rather than leaving quality under the player’s manual control.
When changing the slider does not fix the problem
First identify what “lag” looks like. Roblox distinguishes graphics lag, which causes choppy visuals, from network lag, which can make players warp or actions take longer, and system lag. Lowering graphics is aimed at reducing device workload; it is not a universal fix for network problems. If visuals remain choppy, Roblox also recommends checking for other applications using substantial device resources. See How to Reduce Lag and Speed Up Play.

If higher Graphics Quality does not change how far objects appear, the experience’s rendering choices may be responsible. The cited player support guidance offers no universal override for those creator-side behaviors. Roblox’s documented player path is the in-game graphics setting; unofficial configuration-file or FastFlag edits are not established by these sources as supported render-distance controls.
