On desktop, Classic mode lets you reposition the view by holding the right mouse button and dragging.
Change the camera mode in a Roblox experience
- Join the Roblox experience and open its in-experience menu.
- Select Settings, then find Camera.
- Choose Classic or Follow, if the experience has not locked the setting.
Menu labels or availability can vary as Roblox updates its app and as experience developers configure their games. Roblox’s [in-experience Help menu] includes keyboard shortcuts, mouse instructions, and mobile gestures.
What Classic and Follow do
Classic
Classic keeps the camera where it is until you adjust it manually. On desktop, hold the right mouse button and drag to rotate the viewpoint around your avatar.
Follow
Follow turns the camera with your avatar as it moves left or right. Choose it if you want the view to track your movement rather than repositioning the camera yourself.

Camera options in VR
Roblox’s VR settings include a third-person fixed-camera option that switches between a fixed camera and a follow camera. A separate rotation setting lets you choose stepped or smooth turning. See Roblox Support’s VR Menus and Settings for those options.
If you cannot change the camera
An experience developer may lock the camera mode. If the Camera setting is unavailable or cannot be changed, Roblox’s support information does not identify a player-side override; the choice may be controlled by that experience.
