On PS5, Fortnite lets you turn its built-in reticle on or off, but Epic says custom crosshairs are not supported. To find the toggle, open Settings → Game UI → Reticle & Damage Feedback, change Reticle, then apply the setting.
Turn the built-in reticle on or off
- From the Fortnite lobby or a match, press the controller’s Options button to open the menu.
- Select Settings, then open the Game UI tab.
- Find Reticle & Damage Feedback and toggle Reticle.
- Apply the change.
Epic describes this setting as a way to show or hide the weapon reticle. Its HUD guidance places the reticle and related ammo and damage information in the same section. Epic’s HUD instructions and its crosshair toggle instructions describe the setting and the need to apply the change.
Can you change the reticle’s design?
No. The supported option changes visibility; it does not let you select a different shape or import a custom reticle. Epic Games Player Support states, “Custom crosshairs are not supported in Fortnite.” Epic’s crosshair personalization answer does not offer a PS5-specific customization method.
If the Reticle option is missing
Check which game mode is selected. Epic notes that settings can differ depending on the current mode, so the option may not appear in every mode. Epic’s control-setting guidance also confirms that pressing Options opens the menu on PlayStation.

Fortnite’s menu labels and available settings can change with updates. If the labels above do not match your screen, check the current Game UI settings in your selected mode.
