Check which region your account is registered to, then troubleshoot payment methods for that Store rather than looking for a console setting.
Can you change your PlayStation Store region on PS5?
No. A PlayStation account’s country/region cannot be changed after the account is created, so there is no PS5 setting that switches an existing account to another country or currency. PlayStation Support states, “Once created, your country/region can’t be changed” in its account country/region guidance; the US PlayStation Network terms also reflect this restriction.
The Store experience is tied to the account’s registered region, not the console’s current location. Store content and services vary by region, and PlayStation says the account region should match billing information. If the Store is showing an unexpected currency, first check the account record rather than assuming the console’s location determines it.
How to check your account’s country or region
Use Account Management or the PlayStation App to view the country/region associated with the account:

- In a browser, sign in to Account Management.
- Open Your Information, then select Edit your Residential Address.
- Find the country/region at the bottom of the page.
In the PlayStation App, go to Settings > Account Information, then select Edit under Residential Address. The account record is the relevant detail; your console’s current location does not change it.
If your payment card or currency is the problem
A card registered in a different country from the Store region may not link to your account. PlayStation’s card troubleshooting guidance and accepted payment methods by country or region explain the available options.

- Where possible, use a payment card registered in the same region as the Store.
- Try another payment method supported in that region; availability varies by country or region.
- Consider a PlayStation Store wallet top-up code for your account region. Check that the specific code or gift card matches the account region before buying or redeeming it.
A matching top-up code adds funds to the existing regional wallet. It does not convert the account to another region or currency. PlayStation’s voucher redemption guidance explains the region-matching requirement.

If the account region seems wrong
Contact PlayStation Support for help with the account. The published guidance cited here does not describe an exception or a supported account-region migration process, so don’t assume Support can change the country/region. If you recently moved, the account’s registered region still determines which Store and payment options apply.
