You can add Robux to your child’s account from your own linked, parent-privileged Roblox account: open Settings > Parental Controls, select your child, then choose Add Robux. This route also lets you see their balance and use Roblox’s parental spending controls. Other options include buying through Roblox or using an official gift card, but they differ in control and eligibility.

How to add Robux from a parent account

Set up a parent account. Use your Roblox account or create one, complete Roblox’s age check, and link it to your child’s account. Verification methods and availability can vary by region. See Roblox’s parental controls information and parent privileges instructions for current requirements.
Open the child’s controls. In the parent account, go to Settings > Parental Controls and select your child’s account.
Add Robux. Scroll to the Robux section and select Add Robux. You can also check the child’s current balance there. Roblox documents this process in its Parental Controls Overview.

Compare the ways to buy Robux

Route	Parental visibility and control	Availability and bonus	Refund or redemption considerations
Top up through linked parent account	Lets the parent view the child’s balance and use Roblox parental spending controls.	Requires an age-checked parent account linked to the child.	Roblox’s cited controls information does not state a refund rule for this route.
Buy through Roblox	Buying directly does not by itself provide the linked-parent balance view and controls described above.	Roblox lists browser, mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox One apps. Roblox says web, computer, and gift-card purchases receive up to 25% more Robux; this is a relative offer, not a guaranteed fixed bonus for every package. See Ways to Get Robux.	Refund terms depend on the purchase route and are not specified by the cited overview.
Roblox gift card	Redemption does not count toward Roblox’s monthly spending limit.	For the U.S., Roblox says cards are sold online or in stores by authorized retailers and distributors. Some cards redeem directly for Robux; others redeem for Roblox Credits. See the U.S. gift card terms.	Cards from unauthorized sellers, including internet auction sites, will not be honored under the U.S. terms. An adult must redeem a card or a minor must have parent/guardian consent.
Gift Robux link	Does not use the linked-parent top-up route.	Limited to select users in the U.S. on computer/web. The person sharing the link and the gifter must be 18 or older; the gifter must be in the U.S. and verify a phone number.	Gifts are final sale and non-refundable. Roblox advises checking the recipient before checkout. See Gift Robux.

Roblox’s support pages do not establish current package prices or confirm that a specific retailer listing is authorized. Check the seller’s authorization rather than assuming an online marketplace listing qualifies.

Set spending limits and understand their exceptions

After linking a parent-privileged account, you can set a monthly spending limit and choose spending notifications in parental controls. Roblox says limits are available for children under 13 in most regions; age-related controls and responsibilities vary by age and region. Roblox’s parent privileges guidance covers changes as a child gets older, including the ability for linked parents to add Robux to teen accounts.

Gift cards: Roblox’s monthly spending limit does not apply to gift-card redemptions.
Consoles: Roblox says limits may not apply on certain console devices. Xbox spending is controlled separately through Xbox.

If a spending cap is important, use the linked-parent controls and check the console’s own spending restrictions. A Roblox limit alone may not cover every purchase route or device. Roblox explains the exceptions in its spending restrictions guidance and spending-limit FAQ.

Avoid Robux generator scams

Roblox states: “There is no such thing as a Robux Generator. If a person, website, or experience tries to tell you there is, this is a scam and should be reported via our Report Abuse system.” Use Roblox’s documented purchase routes and report offers claiming to generate free Robux. The warning appears on Roblox’s Ways to Get Robux page.
