Show or hide the reticle
- Open the Fortnite menu and select the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings (the gear icon).
- Open the Game UI tab.
- Under Reticle & Damage Feedback, toggle Reticle on or off.
- Select Apply to save the change.
These are the steps in Epic Games Support’s instructions for turning the crosshair on or off. Fortnite updates can change menu labels or locations. Epic’s developer documentation describes Game UI as the area for HUD display and reticle and damage-feedback settings (Epic Developer Community).
Can you choose a custom reticle shape or color?
The official instructions document a visibility toggle, not a shape or color editor. A secondary guide published by Crosshair Games on August 20, 2026, likewise reports that Fortnite’s standard settings do not let players define a custom reticle shape or color (Fortnite Crosshair Settings (PC & Mobile)). That limitation is based on the guide’s account of standard settings; Epic’s support page does not explicitly list every customization option the game lacks.
“Crosshair” and “reticle” refer to the aiming marker players may be looking for. If you only want it visible or hidden, use the in-game toggle above. A screen overlay or monitor feature would be separate from Fortnite’s documented setting and is not an in-game customization control.
