To charge Transcendence in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, equip the Prismatic subclass and deal both Light- and Darkness-aligned damage or apply effects aligned with each. Arc, Solar, and Void actions fill the Light meter; Stasis and Strand actions fill the Darkness meter. Kinetic damage contributes to both more slowly. Transcendence is ready when both meters fill and meet.
How to fill both Transcendence meters
Transcendence is a Prismatic ability. The indicator for its two meters sits beneath the Super meter. Bungie’s Prismatic Deep Dive explains which actions charge each side:

|---|---|
| Light | Arc, Solar, or Void damage; Light-aligned buffs or debuffs |
| Darkness | Stasis or Strand damage; Darkness-aligned buffs or debuffs |
| Both | Kinetic damage, at a reduced rate; Bungie says its rate increases when either meter is full |
Use a mix of Light- and Darkness-aligned actions to build both sides. If one meter is behind, Kinetic damage can help it catch up while also contributing to the other. Bungie does not publish exact charge values by action or weapon, so there is no official numeric rate or confirmed fastest weapon to recommend.
When Transcendence is ready
Watch the indicator beneath the Super meter. When both meters are full and meet in the middle, Transcendence becomes available. Activate it with your configured ability input. Bungie’s current Guardian guide also identifies Transcendence as Prismatic’s special ability, charged by dealing Light and Darkness damage.

What Transcendence does
Entering Transcendence immediately refreshes melee and grenade energy and increases their regeneration. Grenade damage further increases melee regeneration, while melee damage further increases grenade regeneration. The state also slightly increases weapon damage, improves incoming-damage resistance, and gives your class a unique grenade that deals both Light and Darkness damage.
- Hunter: Hailfire Spike, combining Stasis and Solar.
- Titan: Electrified Snare, combining Strand and Arc.
- Warlock: Freezing Singularity, combining Void and Stasis.
