The regular PlayStation App does not currently document a personal hours-played screen. To check your own PS5 total on a phone, use Sony’s PlayStation PS5 statistics dashboard in a mobile browser. To check a child’s recent playtime, use the separate PlayStation Family app.
Check your own PS5 hours on your phone
Use a browser rather than the regular PlayStation App:

- Open a mobile browser.
- Go to Sony’s PS5 page.
- Scroll to Your PS5 stats.
- Tap Continue to sign-in, if shown.
- Sign in with the PlayStation Network account used on your console.
- Review the personalized statistics dashboard.
Sony describes this as a PS5 lifetime player-statistics dashboard. It can show total hours played and other available aggregate statistics. The total-hours figure covers time spent in-game on a PS5 console or PlayStation Portal.

What the PS5 statistics dashboard shows
Depending on the statistics available to your account, Sony lists categories including:
#1 Best Overall
- Make DMing Easier with this simple system!
- 317 Official 5th edition monsters, animals, and NPCs pre-printed
- 50 Character trackers for the PC's vital stats
- 50 Blank Monster Trackers to add to your collection
- 20 Alphabetical tabs to keep everything organized in the box
- Total hours played on PS5
- Total PS5 games played
- Multiplayer hours
- Hours played on PlayStation Portal
- Hours played on PS VR2
Sony says the Total PS5 games played figure excludes demos, trials and betas. The page does not promise a complete, searchable list containing an exact hour count for every game, so do not treat it as a universal per-game history.
Can the regular PlayStation App show hours played?
Sony’s current PlayStation App feature documentation lists messaging, voice chat, remote downloads, storage management, game launching, captures, Share Screen, settings and PS4 Second Screen. It does not list a personal hours-played or per-game playtime screen.
That is why instructions telling you to open a menu such as Profile > Games > Hours Played may not match the current app. The standard app can handle game-related and remote-console functions, but Sony’s documented features do not provide a normal personal playtime-history view.

Check a child’s playtime with PlayStation Family
For a child’s recent activity, use the separate PlayStation Family app:
- Open PlayStation Family and sign in.
- Select the child at the top of the home screen.
- Scroll to the Activity widget.
- Review the activity summary, Time Played graph, and most-played games and apps.
The Activity report covers the last seven days, not a permanent lifetime record. Playtime data updates when the app is opened or refreshed. The Playing Now widget can show the game currently being played and its age rating. Sony recommends closing games before the child logs in to improve the accuracy of current-play information.
Playtime controls are not the same as game hours
Parental-control playtime is a family-management measurement, not necessarily an exact counter of active gameplay. Sony defines PS4 child playtime as the time the child is logged in to the PS4, even when a game or application is not running. Time spent in menus or while logged in without actively playing can therefore affect the figure.
Rank #3
Playtime limits are managed by a family manager, parent or guardian, and Sony requires a time zone to be set before controls can be adjusted. See the PlayStation playtime-controls guide for those settings.
What about PS4 games and old consoles?
Sony presents the browser dashboard as PS5 statistics, not as a complete account-wide history for every PlayStation generation. A PS4 game played on a PS5 may be represented in PS5 activity, but Sony’s public information does not explain how every PS4 title or historical PS4 session is counted.
Do not assume the dashboard will recover every hour played on an original PS4, or all hours from older consoles. If you need the exact total for one game, check that game’s own statistics screen if it has one. Availability and accuracy vary by title.

Try these checks:
- Confirm that the browser and console use the same PlayStation Network account.
- Refresh the page, or sign out and sign back in.
- Open the page in a normal mobile browser rather than an embedded browser inside another app.
- Check whether the dashboard is available for your region and account.
- If Sony reports that it cannot find your data, try again later. The page can display a temporary refresh or try-again state.
If you need today’s playtime, the regular PlayStation App is not documented as providing a personal daily-hours counter. The PlayStation Family app can report recent child activity, while PS4 parental controls provide a child-focused playtime measurement rather than a general personal account history.
Should you use a third-party tracker?
Be cautious with services that request PlayStation account access. Authorized third-party apps may receive gameplay information. If you have authorized one, Sony provides instructions for reviewing and unlinking services through its authorized-app management page. Do not give your PlayStation credentials to an unofficial hours-tracking site.
