You can’t reliably see how long a Roblox friend has been offline. Roblox’s standard profile and Friends list show the status visible to your account, not an elapsed-time counter or dependable last-used timestamp. An “offline” label can also mean your friend’s privacy settings hide their online status.
What “offline” means on Roblox
Roblox lets users choose who can see their Online Status. As Roblox explains, “Anyone outside your set preference will see you as offline on your Roblox profile or their Friends list.” That means an offline label does not prove your friend has stopped using Roblox, and it does not tell you when they were last online. How to check the status Roblox shows you
- Open your friend’s Roblox profile, or find them in your Friends list.
- Check whether Roblox displays them as online or offline.
- Treat “offline” only as the status visible to your account; Roblox does not provide an elapsed offline duration there.
Privacy settings that affect what you see
Online Status
To review the setting on your own account, go to Settings → Privacy & content restrictions → Visibility & private servers → Visibility → Online Status. Roblox says the available audience choices vary by age and region. Your friend controls their own setting, so you cannot use your settings to reveal a status they have chosen not to share.
Show current experience
Roblox has a separate Show current experience control for who can see the experience a user is playing and who can join them. It concerns visibility of a current session, not a record of when someone last used Roblox.

Share activity updates
The Share activity updates setting controls whether friends receive updates about recent in-experience activity. Roblox does not describe it as a historical offline-duration feature, so it is not a way to calculate how long a friend has been offline.
What about Roblox’s developer API?
Roblox Creator Hub documents the developer method Player:GetFriendsOnlineAsync and describes a LastOnline field in returned friend data. This is developer-facing documentation, not a standard profile or app feature that Roblox documents for ordinary users to check an offline friend’s exact inactivity duration. Are third-party trackers a reliable workaround?
Roblox’s documentation does not establish a third-party tracker or browser extension as an official, guaranteed way to see a friend’s exact offline duration. Avoid treating tools that promise a precise last-seen time as authoritative, especially when Roblox’s own user interface does not provide that information.
