Sign in to the Steam account you used for the reservation, then open Valve’s Steam Frame product page. Valve says reservation holders can see an expected order window there. The page does not promise a public, exact queue number, so use the window and your reservation or waitlist status—not a supposed ordinal rank—to judge when you may receive a purchase invitation.
The official way to check your Steam Frame queue status
Valve’s current instruction is account-specific: open the Steam Frame product page while signed in to the Steam account associated with your reservation. Its Steam Hardware update of October 9, 2026 says, “You can now check on your expected order window by going directly to the Steam Frame product page while logged in to your Steam account.”

That expected order window is the public information Valve describes. The cited official material does not establish a universal numeric position such as “number 4,218,” and it does not provide a single worldwide line shared by every Steam Frame customer. Your display depends on the model, shipping region and status attached to your account.

- Use the account that made the reservation. Sign in to Steam with the account that received the reservation or waitlist message. A different account may show no matching status, even if you are using the same computer or email address for another Steam account.
- Open Valve’s Steam Frame page. Go directly to store.steampowered.com/hardware/steamframe after signing in. The official instruction identifies this product page as the place to check.
- Read the account-specific status and window. Look for the reservation information and the expected order window shown for your account. Treat the window as Valve’s current estimate for when your place in that list may be reached, not as a guaranteed shipping or purchase date.
- Confirm which list the display describes. Steam Frame reservations are separated by the 256GB and 1TB models and by shipping region. Make sure you are interpreting the model and destination connected to your own reservation.
- Monitor the email address attached to Steam. Valve uses email for reservation and waitlist status changes and for the later purchase option. Keep checking that inbox, including spam or filtered folders, rather than relying only on a page visit.
If the page does not show the expected order window, first sign out and back in to confirm the account, then revisit the product page. Compare the account with the reservation or waitlist email you received. Do not assume that an empty or different display means your reservation was transferred to another model or region.

What the three important terms mean
Reservation
A reservation means Valve reserved the selected Steam Frame model for you within the relevant list. It is not the same as an immediate purchase. Valve will email the purchase option as units become available. The expected order window on the product page is the best public indication of when that option may arrive.
Reservation queue
The reservation queue is the group of people who received a reservation opportunity for a particular model and shipping region. Valve processes people in randomized order within each list. A reservation queue is therefore not one global sequence covering every Steam Frame configuration and country.
Waitlist
A waitlist status means the signup was beyond the quantity initially available for reservation. Valve says it contacts a region’s waitlist only after exhausting that region’s reservation queue. A waitlist email is not an exact place number and is not evidence that you are in the reservation queue for another model or destination.

Expected order window
This is the timing estimate Valve now exposes on the product page for logged-in reservation holders. “Expected” matters: the display describes a forecasted ordering period, not a guaranteed date by which you will be able to buy or receive the headset. The official instructions do not say that the page will reveal a precise ordinal rank.
Why two Steam Frame customers can see different timing
Compare only people in the same model, shipping region and status category. The relevant differences are:

Queue positions proceed in randomized order within each list. Consequently, a friend with the same model may see a different expected order window, and an email received by somebody in another region does not show that person moved ahead of you.

How the launch dates fit into your current status
Valve’s signup FAQ says model signups were randomized on September 17, 2026. The FAQ described separate 256GB and 1TB lists and the launch regions North America, United Kingdom/European Union, and Australia. It said initial fulfillment emails were scheduled to begin September 18, 2026.

Those dates describe the launch process, not an individual’s guaranteed purchase date. Valve’s October 9 update is the more practical instruction for checking your account now: sign in and read the expected order window on the Steam Frame page. A September 18 email schedule should not be treated as proof that every reservation holder would receive an offer on that date.
Shipping-region boundaries matter
Valve says it will reach a region’s waitlist after exhausting that region’s reservation queue. That means timing reports are meaningful only when the model and shipping region match yours.

- North America, United Kingdom/European Union and Australia: These are the regional lists identified in Valve’s launch FAQ.
- Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong: Valve identifies these as Komodo distribution regions. Their timing should not be inferred from North American, United Kingdom/European Union or Australian reports.
- South Korea: Valve said shipping would come later. A South Korean customer should not use an email or expected window from another region as a prediction.
Even within one broad geography, the model split still applies. A 256GB reservation and a 1TB reservation are not interchangeable queue entries.
What you can and cannot learn from the page
You can learn
- Whether the signed-in account is associated with a Steam Frame reservation or waitlist status.
- The expected order window Valve currently associates with that account and list.
- The practical distinction between having a reservation and being beyond the initially available quantity on a waitlist.
You cannot reliably infer
- An exact numeric position in line, because Valve’s public instruction describes an expected window rather than a published rank.
- A guaranteed purchase or delivery date, because an expected window is an estimate and the purchase option is sent as units become available.
- Progress in another model’s queue or another region’s queue.
- That another person jumped ahead merely because they received an email first; randomized ordering and separate lists can produce different timing.
Troubleshooting a missing or confusing status
The page shows no reservation information
- Check that you are signed in to the Steam account used for the original signup.
- Open the product page again from that signed-in session rather than using a different account’s browser profile.
- Search the email account associated with Steam for the reservation or waitlist message. That message can help identify which account and status you used.
- If you signed up for more than one model or have addresses in different regions, identify the exact model and destination connected to the message before comparing the page display.
The page shows a window but no exact number
That is consistent with Valve’s published guidance. The official material does not promise a numeric queue rank. Save the displayed window for your own planning and continue watching the Steam-associated email account for the purchase option.

Someone in another country received an offer first
Do not use that event to recalculate your place. Valve separates lists by shipping region and says it reaches a region’s waitlist only after that region’s reservation queue is exhausted. A message from another region can reflect a different list, model or status.

Your friend with the same model has a different window
Randomized order within each model-and-region list allows that result. Verify that both of you selected the same capacity, are shipping to the same regional list and have the same reservation-versus-waitlist status before drawing a comparison.
A practical monitoring routine
Use a simple routine rather than repeatedly searching for unofficial queue spreadsheets or social-media estimates:
- At a reasonable interval, sign in to the reservation account and open the Steam Frame product page.
- Record the expected order window exactly as displayed, including the model and destination it applies to.
- Check the Steam-associated email inbox and filtered folders for a status-change message or purchase option.
- When comparing reports from other customers, match all three axes: model, shipping region and status.
- Ignore claims that assign you a precise universal rank unless Valve itself adds such a number to your account page.
This approach keeps the information you use tied to your own account instead of to a different list’s progress.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using the wrong Steam account: The checking route is tied to the account associated with the reservation.
- Calling the waitlist a purchase date: Waitlist status means the signup exceeded the initially available reservation quantity; it does not provide a guaranteed offer date.
- Treating the expected window as a delivery promise: Valve describes an expected order window, while the purchase option arrives by email as units become available.
- Combining all customers into one line: Capacity and shipping region create separate lists.
- Using another region’s email as evidence: Regional processing is independent, and South Korea’s later shipping statement is not a forecast for other destinations.
- Waiting only for the webpage: Valve uses email for status changes and the eventual purchase option, so monitor the associated inbox as well.

The only reliable way to check your Steam Frame reservation progress is to sign in to the reserving Steam account and open Valve’s Steam Frame product page. Read the expected order window, verify the model and shipping region, and watch the associated email account. Valve’s published process uses randomized, model-and-region-specific lists and does not establish a public exact queue number or guaranteed purchase date.
