There is no universally best hero to take from a Seven Knights Re:Birth selector. First check the exact item name and the heroes it currently offers in your own selection screen; selector pools differ. Then choose for the job your roster needs most: a broad-area damage dealer for PvE farming, a support if your team already has damage, or a hero suited to the mode you actually play. Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure are current broad-PvE candidates only if they appear in your selector.
The practical answer depends on two things: what the item allows you to choose and what your account needs. A strong general recommendation is not automatically eligible, and an eligible hero is not automatically the best fit for your teams. Use the process below to narrow the list without treating a tier list as a one-size-fits-all answer.

Start with the selector you actually have
“Hero selector” can refer to different tickets and selector items, and the eligible heroes are not established as identical across them. Do not choose from a tier list until you have checked the item’s displayed name and opened its in-game selection screen. The list presented there is the final check for what you can claim.

In a September 2, 2026 update, Netmarble announced that Hayeon was added to several named items: Tower of Trials Hero Ticket, Tower of Trials Hero Ticket II, Legendary Hero Selector, Legendary Hero Ticket II, Rare–Legendary Hero Ticket II, Legendary Hero Selector II, and Legendary Hero Ticket III. That notice documents additions to those items; it does not mean every selector shares one pool or establish a complete current list for every ticket.

Check eligibility before evaluating a hero
- Read the selector’s complete in-game name, including any number or rarity range.
- Open its hero list and confirm that your intended choice is actually selectable. If the pool is not visible until you use the item, inspect any item details or confirmation screen before finalizing.
- Compare only eligible heroes against your roster and the mode you care about. A strong hero outside this selector’s pool is not a useful pick from this item.
Names that look nearly interchangeable still need to be checked as separate items. The September 2 notice is a useful example: it listed particular Tower of Trials and Legendary tickets, including versions with “II” or “III” in the name. It did not say that every ticket in the game received the same addition. Do not assume that a selector inherits another item’s choices just because both use “Legendary” or “Hero Ticket” in the label.
Likewise, an update announcing an addition is not a complete catalogue. The notice confirms that Hayeon was added to the named items, but it should not be used to infer the entire current pool or the contents of an unlisted selector. The safest order is: identify your item, read its own list, and only then compare candidates. That avoids building a plan around a hero you cannot claim with the item you have.
Choose for the job your roster lacks
For a newer account focused on general PvE and farming, start by asking whether you already have a damage dealer who can clear groups effectively. GameWith’s guide, updated October 12, 2026, identifies Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure among strong area attackers and specifically highlights Teo for farming. Treat them as a shortlist to check against your selector, not a universal ranking or guarantee that any one appears in your pool.

If you already have a capable farmer, adding another similar damage dealer may do less for your account than filling a different role. GameWith also describes Vanessa and Kagura as versatile support choices. That makes them candidates to consider when your roster would benefit more from support than from another area attacker; it does not establish that either is the right choice for every team or selector.
| Your current need | What to look for | Research-supported candidates |
|---|---|---|
| General PvE farming | An effective area attacker, if you lack one. | Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, or Mercure, if eligible. GameWith specifically calls out Teo’s farming capability. |
| More support rather than another similar carry | A support that complements the damage dealers you already use. | Vanessa or Kagura are described by GameWith as versatile support choices, if eligible. |
| A particular competitive or specialist mode | A hero rated for that mode and useful to your roster there. | No single pick follows from a general-PvE shortlist; compare the mode-specific ratings and your eligible choices. |
The role descriptions above are a starting point, not a substitute for checking what your team needs. If you already have a strong area attacker, the marginal value of a second one may be lower. If your damage is adequate but your team lacks support, a support may help more. The best choice depends on the heroes you own and use, not just a hero’s general reputation.
Think in terms of a roster gap, not a popularity contest
Before choosing, describe the problem you want the selector to solve in one sentence. For example: “I need a better option for general PvE farming,” or “My farming damage is covered, so I want to improve a team I use for Raid.” That statement gives you a test for every candidate. If a hero is well regarded but does not address the stated gap, popularity alone is a weak reason to take it.

For a farming-focused account, the first question is whether you have an effective area attacker already. If not, compare eligible Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure as options because GameWith includes them among strong area attackers; it specifically notes Teo’s farming capability. The evidence does not establish a universal order among all four, so do not turn that shortlist into an unsupported ranking. If only one of the four is actually in your selector, the list narrows accordingly.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If you already rely on an area attacker and your farming is adequate, shift the comparison toward support. Vanessa and Kagura are named as versatile supports, but “versatile” is not a guarantee that either fixes a particular team’s weaknesses. Consider whether the hero would support the damage dealers you actually use and whether the role is more valuable to you than a second carry. This is account judgment, not a universal rule about which role should always come first.
A simple way to avoid choosing by name recognition is to write down your likely options and the job each would perform for your account. One column can be “helps my farming team,” another “helps a mode I play often,” and another “duplicates a role I already cover.” If you cannot identify a practical use for an option beyond its general reputation, compare it again with the candidate that answers your stated goal more directly.
Let your main game mode decide the shortlist
A hero’s value can change with the activity. Pocket Gamer’s October 3, 2026 tier list, version 1.29.03, separates its ratings for PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, and Advent. That structure is more useful than treating one overall tier as a verdict for every mode. If your priority is Raid, for example, examine the Raid rating rather than assuming a farming recommendation transfers directly.
Use mode ratings to narrow candidates, then make the account-specific comparison: which eligible hero improves the teams you actually use in that mode? The available evidence does not establish a named best selector pick for PvP, Raid, Castle, or Advent, so choosing one for those activities requires checking the current in-game pool and mode-specific ratings rather than extending the broad-PvE recommendations beyond their scope.
- Mostly general PvE: Consider the area attackers above if your account needs a farmer.
- Mostly PvP, Raid, Castle, or Advent: Use the corresponding mode rating as the first filter, then consider how the hero fits your roster.
- Several modes: Prefer a choice that addresses a real weakness across your own teams rather than assuming one hero is best everywhere.
For accounts that play several activities, it can help to decide which mode matters most right now rather than trying to make one selector solve every team. A hero that is a sensible choice for general PvE may not be the best answer for a player concentrating on Raid or Advent. Conversely, if you move between modes and have one clear roster gap that affects your usual play, that broader account need may be a better guide than a single mode rating.

Do not overread a tier list’s format. Separate ratings for PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, and Advent show that the list evaluates heroes in different contexts; they do not by themselves tell you which eligible hero suits your account. Read the rating for your chosen mode, verify the hero is in the selector, and then consider whether your roster can use that role. If the list does not answer the account-fit question, it is a prompt for comparison rather than a final instruction.
Pocket Gamer’s list also says rerolling is not essential for normal progression and cautions that the meta can change. A tier list is therefore a snapshot of editorial judgment, not a permanent guarantee that a hero is optimal or a reason by itself to delay using a selector. That caveat is especially useful if you are tempted to wait for a single supposedly perfect answer: first establish what the item offers and what your account needs, then make the choice on those facts.
Do not assume collaboration heroes are in general selectors
Availability can be separate from selector eligibility. Netmarble’s September 30, 2026 notice says Demon Slayer collaboration heroes can be obtained only through collaboration event rewards or the Demon Slayer Corps Wish List Summon featuring Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma. The event runs from October 1 after maintenance until October 29 before maintenance, UTC+0. That notice does not establish these heroes as options in a general selector, so do not plan a selector choice around one unless it appears in the selector’s own list.
This is a separate check from asking whether a character exists in the game or is currently obtainable through an event. A collaboration acquisition route does not prove that the same character is in a general-purpose ticket. If you want a collaboration hero, follow the acquisition routes named in the notice and verify any selector’s own eligible list instead of assuming the ticket can substitute for an event reward or summon.
The dates also matter when interpreting availability: Netmarble described the collaboration as running from October 1 after maintenance through October 29 before maintenance, UTC+0. That is a time-bounded event window, not a permanent selector-pool statement. The notice names the Demon Slayer Corps Wish List Summon featuring Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma as a route; it should not be stretched into a claim about other tickets or later availability.
A practical decision sequence
- Identify the item. Record the exact selector or ticket name shown in your inventory.
- Verify the eligible list. Find your preferred candidates in that item’s own selection screen; do not infer eligibility from another ticket’s pool or from an update naming a different item.
- Name your main goal. Decide whether you want better general PvE farming or improvement in PvP, Raid, Castle, or Advent.
- Audit the relevant role. For PvE farming, ask whether you already have an effective area attacker. For another mode, compare its specific ratings and the teams you use there.
- Compare candidates with your roster. If you already have a similar carry, assess whether a support such as Vanessa or Kagura, if eligible, would address a more important gap.
- Make the account-specific call. A new hero versus advancing an owned one is an account-specific judgment; the available recommendations do not establish a universal rule for that trade-off.
- Confirm before claiming. Recheck the selected hero and item on the final confirmation screen before completing the choice.
How to apply the sequence without overcomplicating it
Keep the decision in a fixed order. First establish the eligible choices; then decide the mode or role you care about; finally compare only the remaining choices with your own roster. Reversing that order can lead you to settle on a favorite before discovering it is not in the pool, or to chase a broad tier-list result that does not help the team you use.

For example, suppose your selector includes one of the named area attackers and you mainly want to improve general PvE farming. The next question is not “Which name is most popular?” but “Do I already have an effective farmer?” If the answer is no, an eligible area attacker can fit the stated goal. If the answer is yes, compare whether support would make a larger difference instead. This example uses the available role guidance, not a claim that one hero will always outperform another on every account.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor a player focused on a specialist mode, replace the farming question with the relevant mode rating and the team used there. The mode-specific shortlist might not produce a definitive winner, because the choice still depends on the eligible pool and roster. That is a useful outcome: if two options remain plausible, the choice is genuinely account-specific, not evidence that a universal answer is being withheld.
Common selector mistakes
- Picking from a recommendation without checking eligibility: A hero recommendation does not prove that hero is in your item’s pool.
- Treating every selector as the same ticket: Netmarble’s Hayeon notice names specific items, which is not evidence of a shared pool across all selectors.
- Using a PvE farming list as an all-mode ranking: Compare PvP, Raid, Castle, or Advent needs separately.
- Choosing a second copy of a role you already cover without checking the gap: A support may be a better addition when your roster already has a capable carry, but the right choice depends on your account.
- Assuming a limited collaboration character can come from a general selector: Check both the selector’s list and the event’s stated acquisition routes.
Another common trap is treating a dated tier list as permanent. Pocket Gamer’s version 1.29.03 list is dated October 3, 2026, and the publisher itself cautions that the meta can change. Use the list as an informed comparison for its date and modes, not as a guarantee that a rating will remain unchanged. This does not mean you need to postpone every choice; it means you should avoid making a long-term account decision on a claim that the list does not make.
It is also easy to confuse “strong in general” with “best marginal addition.” If your roster already has an effective area attacker, another broadly recommended attacker may add less than a support candidate. If your need is a specialist mode, general PvE performance may not answer it. Revisit your original goal before confirming: does the candidate address the gap, fit the mode, and appear in this exact item?

A specific account-optimal answer needs two details: the selector’s exact displayed name and a useful view or list of the heroes you own, especially the damage dealers and supports you rely on. Add the mode you want to improve. Without those details, Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, Mercure, Vanessa, and Kagura are conditional candidates—not a definitive personalized ranking.

These details matter because the community questions behind selector advice often boil down to either “Which one should I choose from these boxes?” or “Based on my account what hero would best help my account?” The first needs the box’s actual choices; the second needs the roster and goal. Community comments can offer ideas, but they are anecdotal rather than authoritative rankings. For a precise answer, the selector list and account context are more valuable than a generic poll.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which hero should I choose from a Seven Knights Re:Birth selector?
There is no universal pick. Check the exact selector’s eligible list, then choose for the mode and role your roster needs. For general PvE farming, Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure are candidates if eligible; Vanessa and Kagura are support candidates if your roster needs support.
Are all hero selectors in Seven Knights Re:Birth the same?
Do not assume so. Netmarble’s September 2, 2026 notice listed Hayeon additions to specific tickets and selectors, but it did not establish a shared pool for every item. Use the selection screen for your own item as the eligibility check.
Is Teo the best selector pick for farming?
GameWith’s October 12, 2026 guide specifically highlights Teo’s farming capability and lists him among strong area attackers. That makes Teo a candidate if your selector includes him and your account needs a farmer, not a guaranteed best choice for every roster.
Should I choose a support or another damage dealer?
Compare your current roster. If you lack an effective area attacker for general PvE farming, an eligible area attacker may address that gap. If your damage is already covered, a versatile support such as Vanessa or Kagura may be more useful, depending on your teams.
Can I get Demon Slayer collaboration heroes from a general selector?
Netmarble’s September 30, 2026 notice says collaboration heroes can be obtained through collaboration event rewards or the Demon Slayer Corps Wish List Summon featuring Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma. It does not establish that they are in general selectors, so check the selector’s own list.
Do I need to reroll before using a selector?
Pocket Gamer’s October 3, 2026 tier list says rerolling is not essential for normal progression and notes that the meta can change. A selector decision should still be based on its eligible list, your roster, and the mode you want to improve.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Check the exact selector’s own list first, then choose an eligible hero that fills your roster’s most important gap for the mode you play. Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure are conditional area-attacker options for broad PvE; Vanessa and Kagura are conditional support options. No single pick is best for every ticket or account.
