To chop wood in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, carry a Woodcutting Axe, find a chopping block with logs around it, and interact with the station. On PC, a 2025 guide reports using E; it also reports two wood per cut. Other platform controls are not established by the available sources.
What you need to chop wood
You need a Woodcutting Axe in your inventory. The community wiki does not say that the axe must be equipped, so carrying it is the supported requirement. The axe is listed as an Act 1 item and as not craftable. Its item page lists a purchase cost of 16 and names Órlaith and Balthazar at the Horns of the South Fortress, and Alwyn in Cuanacht, as sellers. Where to find a chopping station
Look for a chopping block surrounded by logs; the station, rather than an arbitrary tree, is the interaction point. The sources identify several options:

- Hunter’s Camp: both the wiki and the guide list a woodcutting spot here.
- Cuanacht: the wiki lists a station southwest of the Wyrd Tower fast travel point, next to the Stagfather Shrine.

How to use the station
- Obtain a Woodcutting Axe and keep it in your inventory.
- Go to a listed chopping station and face the block.
- Use the interaction prompt. The Gaming House guide, published June 28, 2025 and updated August 3, 2025, says the PC action is E and reports two pieces of wood per cut.
The E key is a PC control reported by that guide, not a confirmed universal control. The available sources do not establish the corresponding controls for other platforms.
What to do when the station is empty
The community wiki says a station has a maximum capacity of 18 wood, replenishes to 10 after 24 hours, and returns to 18 after 48 hours. The woodcutting page is marked WIP, and these timings are community-wiki figures rather than independently tested or officially confirmed values. Other ways to get wood
Wood can also be found in containers, bought from merchants, and, according to the wiki, obtained as enemy loot. The wiki lists Beor, Flaithri, Osbryht, and Stron’ner as merchants who carry replenishing stocks, with listed amounts ranging from 30 to 50 wood depending on the merchant. Those are changeable inventory claims, not guaranteed stock; inspect a merchant’s current inventory in-game. The resource is used in handcrafting and rebuilding quests. Tainted Grail Wiki: Wood
