Compare an SBC reward with the best player you already use—or could use—in the same role, then weigh that upgrade against the specific Player Items you must submit. Overall rating alone does not tell you whether the reward improves your lineup, and submitting items is permanent.
Start with the role the reward would fill
Choose the position and role you need in the lineup you actually play. Compare the reward with your strongest current alternative for that job, not with your entire club or an abstract player ranking.

- Lineup fit: Would the reward start, become a useful substitute, or remain unused?
- Relevant attributes and abilities: Compare the qualities that matter for that position and your setup. Consider roles or playstyles where those details are available.
- Overall rating: Treat it as one comparison point, not a verdict. A higher number is not a meaningful upgrade if the player does not improve the lineup you intend to use.
This is a practical comparison, not an EA scoring formula. There is no universal ranking that can determine whether a particular reward is better for every squad.
Check the exact SBC requirements and reward
Read the challenge in your game before deciding what to submit or buy. In FC 26, SBC requirements can include squad rating, chemistry, player quality, leagues, nations, and clubs. Some challenges have multiple steps and may offer group rewards. Requirements vary, so use the challenge itself rather than assuming every SBC follows the same rules. EA Help’s SBC guidance also recommends comparing the items you exchange with the reward you earn.

Check the reward, expiration, your club and SBC Storage, and the Transfer Market before obtaining extra items. A reward that suits your squad may still be a poor choice if the challenge consumes players you need elsewhere or is about to expire before you can complete it.
Value the items you would give up
Make a list of the actual Player Items required, including items you already own and any you would need to obtain. Consider each item’s role in your club: is it a starter, a useful substitute, a player reserved for another challenge, or difficult to replace? Compare the reward with that particular opportunity cost rather than treating every submitted item as interchangeable.

EA warns that SBC submissions are final in FC 26: submitted Player Items are permanently removed, and EA says it cannot restore them. In FC 27, EA also says submitted items are permanently removed even when you submit partial progress and do not finish the SBC. Chemistry may be an SBC requirement in FC 26, but the available EA guidance here does not establish a complete current formula for how chemistry affects match performance in FC 26 or FC 27. EA’s FIFA 23 design notes said that version removed chemistry’s negative effect on attributes and made chemistry additive; that historical change is not proof of the formula in later games. Use a simple decision rule
- Name the job: Identify the position and role you want the reward to fill.
- Compare the alternatives: Set the reward beside your best available player for that job and assess lineup fit and relevant abilities, not rating alone.
- Read the live challenge: Verify its requirements, reward, expiry, and format in the game year you are playing.
- Assess the cost: Identify which items you would submit and what you would lose by removing them from your club.
- Decide before submitting: Ask whether the improvement to the squad you use is worth permanently giving up those particular items.
If you manage your club on a mobile device, EA says the Companion App supports SBC completion, club management, tactics, Evolutions, and Transfer Market activity on Android and iOS devices and tablets.
