Check comparable runtime tests, sustained gaming results, display demands, charging support and the exact regional model before choosing.
How to compare Galaxy phones fairly
Make a shortlist of the exact models and configurations sold in your market, then compare the same kinds of evidence for each. Record the battery capacity, the source and conditions for any runtime figure, the processor and RAM, display specifications, charging support and independent results for workloads that matter to you.
- Start with the workload. Decide whether you care most about gaming, streaming, camera recording, navigation, mobile data or switching among apps. Light-use and video-playback figures may not predict demanding gaming sessions.
- Separate capacity from runtime. A phone’s mAh figure describes battery capacity; actual runtime also depends on hardware, software, settings, battery age, temperature, network and workload.
- Compare like-for-like tests. Prefer runtime tests with similar brightness, network, settings and workload. If protocols differ, treat the figures as separate results, not a direct ranking.
- Check sustained performance. For gaming, seek tests that show performance over time, not just a peak benchmark or processor name. Responsiveness and multitasking evidence can help assess everyday use.
- Verify the version you can buy. Processor, availability and accessories can vary by market, carrier or configuration. Confirm the precise model and charging setup with the local listing.
What Samsung’s current S26 and S25 figures show
Samsung UK’s 2026 comparison lists these typical capacities and video-playback estimates. The playback figures are Samsung claims, not independent runtime-test rankings.

The capacity comparison is a useful example of why a newer generation does not automatically mean a bigger battery: Samsung lists the base S26 at 4,300 mAh versus 4,000 mAh for the S25, while the S26+ and S25+ are both 4,900 mAh and both Ultra models are 5,000 mAh. These are typical-capacity specifications, not measured runtime results.
Which Galaxy phone has the best battery life?
There is no universal winner established by these Samsung specifications alone. The S26 Ultra has the largest listed S26-family typical capacity at 5,000 mAh, but that fact does not prove it will last longest in a particular person’s use. Samsung’s video-playback estimates put the S26+ and S26 Ultra at up to 31 hours and the S26 at up to 30 hours; they are manufacturer estimates, not a same-protocol independent test ranking.

For gaming or heavy use, look for tests that use similar games, brightness, network and settings, and that report sustained play or battery drain over time. A screen’s size, resolution, brightness and refresh behavior can affect consumption, as can camera recording and background apps. Samsung Canada identifies these as relevant battery-use factors in its battery-life buying guide.
How to compare Galaxy performance for gaming and everyday use
Processor and RAM are useful context, but neither alone establishes how a phone performs in a particular game. Samsung UK lists Exynos 2600 for the S26 and S26+ and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy for the S26 Ultra; it lists Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy for the S25 family. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent benchmark results, and chipset availability may vary by market.

- Gaming: Look for sustained frame-rate or workload tests, including whether performance changes during longer sessions. A short peak score does not show how a phone behaves after heat builds up.
- Everyday responsiveness: Consider app opening, switching and multitasking evidence, not only synthetic benchmark scores.
- Battery cost: Compare gaming tests alongside runtime or battery-drain evidence under comparable settings. A smooth, high-refresh experience may be a worthwhile trade if that matters more to you than maximum runtime.
The available Samsung comparison does not establish an independent S26-versus-S25 performance ranking. Treat claims about comparative speed or efficiency on manufacturer pages as Samsung’s claims unless independent testing supports them.
How the display and your workload change battery use
Battery drain reflects the combination of screen and workload rather than capacity alone. Samsung Canada says higher brightness uses more power and notes that larger screens, higher resolutions and higher refresh rates can increase demand. Camera use—especially demanding recording—and background apps can also draw power.

For a gaming-focused comparison, check whether test phones used the same brightness, resolution, refresh setting, game and network. For a camera-heavy routine, seek recording tests rather than relying only on a video-playback estimate. The closest test to your own routine is usually more useful than a single headline number.

Samsung says the Galaxy S26 Ultra supports Super Fast Charging 3.0 up to 60W and claims it can reach 75% in around 30 minutes under its stated test context. Samsung’s US announcement says the power adapter is sold separately for the cited configuration and recommends Samsung-approved chargers and cables. Confirm the exact regional specification and what is included with the model you intend to buy; a charger’s compatibility and the phone’s supported charging standard matter to real charging speed.

A comparison checklist before you buy
- Match the exact model, region, carrier and configuration.
- Record typical capacity separately from runtime claims.
- Label who produced each runtime result and how it was tested.
- Compare sustained tests for your main workload, especially gaming or camera recording.
- Note display size, resolution, brightness and refresh settings used in tests.
- Check supported charging speed, compatible adapter and whether an adapter is included.
