To complete A Relic from the Ashes in Avowed, retrieve the Reliquary of Saint Waidwen from the ruins near Delemgan Glade and return it to Luminous Alfons at Naku Tedek Grounds. The Thief’s Journal is beside the relic; picking it up explains the theft and adds dialogue when you report back.
Start the quest at Naku Tedek Grounds
Speak with Luminous Alfons at Naku Tedek Grounds. He asks you to recover the stolen Reliquary of Saint Waidwen. The quest is associated with the Ancient Soil main-quest period, according to Game8’s walkthrough. If you have already found the journal or reliquary, the quest can also enter your journal through that discovery, but talking to Alfons is the clearest way to begin.

Find the thief’s hiding place near Delemgan Glade
- Follow the quest marker toward Delemgan Glade and search the ruins nearby.
- Look for a way down from the ruins into the lower area, then check the small tunnel on the north side. Neoseeker’s walkthrough places the thief’s remains and both quest items there.
- Be prepared for Delemgans and Xaurips in the area, as noted by Game8.
Another guide describes the location as west of Rock Arch Beacon (XboxAchievements.com). Landmark descriptions differ, so use the quest marker alongside the Delemgan Glade ruins and lower-area tunnel as your main route cues.
Pick up the Reliquary and Thief’s Journal
The Reliquary of Saint Waidwen is the required item. The Thief’s Journal is beside it, so collect both while you are at the hiding place. The journal gives the thief’s motive: the quest text reproduced in the Pillars of Eternity Wiki search result says the bandit’s family was killed by Eothas in the Deadfire Archipelago, and the theft was an act of vengeance.
