Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo complete an Abyssal Chaos Deduction, choose a commission and companion, progress through its story nodes and battles, and use the Codes and Items you find to strengthen your team. To unlock the mode, the community wiki lists two requirements: clear Main Story Under Deepspace 04-13 and reach Hunter Level 45. Choices and companions can reveal different branches, so a clear is not always the same as seeing every ending.
Unlock Abyssal Chaos
If Abyssal Chaos is unavailable, check the two requirements listed by the community wiki: complete Main Story Under Deepspace 04-13 and reach Hunter Level 45. These are community-documented requirements, not requirements stated in the official update announcement cited below.
Start a Deduction
- Choose an available commission. Find Tobias is the initial commission identified in the wiki. Final Farewell unlocks after you complete Find Tobias at least once, according to the Version 3.0 announcement.
- Select a companion. The companion you choose may affect which paths appear. In Final Farewell, the Version 3.0 announcement also describes Wontony as a combat assistant.
- Enter the run and follow its story nodes and battles. A Deduction combines story incidents and choices with increasingly difficult fights. Collect Codes and Items during the run; these provide mode-specific ways to strengthen your team. The commission and combat loop are described in the wiki’s mode overview.
Make progress through the run
For an initial clear, prioritize advancing through the commission and getting through its battles. Use the Codes and Items available in that run to improve your team. This is a practical approach based on the documented progression loop, not a tested build or guarantee of success.
Choices can change the story outcome, and different companions may reveal new paths. If you are pursuing another ending, replay the relevant commission and follow the choices at the named nodes in a community route guide. One Find Tobias route guide lists choices for particular endings. Treat those instructions as community reference: confirm the node appears in your run, and check Records/Cases for branches you have already experienced. The available sources do not establish one guaranteed choice-by-choice route for every ending.

Pick a difficulty that fits your goal
The wiki lists Easy and Hard, and says Hard offers better rewards. It also describes a Challenge mode for Final Farewell with greater difficulty, Hard-mode rewards, and additional achievements. A community guide reports that Challenge-related achievements require an Easy clear followed by a Hard clear; because that sequence is not confirmed in the current official source cited here, check the unlock prompt in your game before planning around it.
Understand Deduction rewards and progression
- Commission rewards are tracked separately. Each commission has its own rewards and factors.
- Deduction Points advance Reward Level. Points earned in a commission contribute to that commission’s progression.
- Factors activate Genes. General Factors and Companion Factors activate Genes for use during Deductions. Using the cycle’s trial companion can provide more Companion Factors, according to the wiki.
The January 13, 2025 Version 3.0 announcement, which described features available after the January 22 update, said Final Farewell Deduction Points II were capped every two weeks and Find Tobias points became uncapped. Those are historical rules, not a reliable statement of the current cycle’s limits. Check the in-game screen for the active cycle, point cap, and reward status.

Use route and collection guides carefully
A community-authored Final Farewell route guide describes pursuing particular incidents and dilemmas to obtain Codes, Items, and achievements. Its author notes that some appearances or outcomes vary; a reader discussion also reports that the Ornate Key was not guaranteed on a third vending-machine pull. Treat these as player-contributed tactics rather than guaranteed drop instructions. If an incident or item does not appear, continue the run or try another route rather than assuming a fixed result.
