Ruined Homestead is in southern Blue Gate, beside Olive Grove. For the Sheltered Retreat Outpost project, bring an in-game camera, photograph a farmland house there, then return to the Outpost project screen to complete the stage. If your active quest is Movie Night, you are looking for a Portable TV instead; that quest also sends you to Stella Montis.
Complete the Sheltered Retreat photo objective
1. Check the active project step
Open the Outpost project screen and confirm that the photo objective is active. Guides identify this stage as “Research Topside Living Conditions.” If the live objective text differs, follow what the game displays.

2. Get and equip an in-game camera
Current guides list three ways to obtain a camera: buy one from Shani, craft one at a basic workbench, or earn one through a quest. Prices and availability can change, so check the current in-game options. Equip the camera before deploying.
3. Find Ruined Homestead in Blue Gate
Deploy to Blue Gate and head south toward Olive Grove. Ruined Homestead is beside the grove. If its map label is difficult to see, zoom in around Olive Grove.

4. Photograph a farmland house
Aim the equipped camera at a house around Ruined Homestead and take a photo. Guides report that a qualifying farm building can register; if the objective does not update, try another of the main farm buildings and check the objective status.
5. Confirm completion at the Outpost
Return to the Outpost project screen and complete or submit the stage there. Later stages involve building materials and ARC damage, but their requirements may change; use the live project screen for the current steps.

Movie Night is a separate Apollo quest. Its first objective is to find a Portable TV, a residential loot item for which Ruined Homestead is one possible search area on Blue Gate. After finding the TV, the quest sends you to Cultural Archives at Stella Montis to search for movie tapes, which you return to Apollo. The Ruined Homestead photo objective and Movie Night therefore require different actions, even though both can take you to the same area.

What to do if the photo does not count
- Check the Outpost project screen to make sure the photo stage is active.
- Confirm that the camera is equipped and that you are photographing a house around Ruined Homestead.
- Try a different main farm building, then check the project status again.
- If the objective still does not register, rely on the in-game text; exact building and interaction rules are guide-reported rather than confirmed by an official source.
