To earn the Bravil recommendation, start the quest by speaking with Kud-Ei at the Bravil Mages Guild, question Varon Vamori about Ardaline and her Mage’s Staff, recover the staff, then return it to Kud-Ei. The quest-specific walkthroughs describe this core sequence; one guide reports a disposition threshold for Varon’s dialogue, noted below as a reported requirement rather than an independently confirmed one.
Start the Bravil Recommendation
- Go to the Bravil Mages Guild and speak with Kud-Ei. This starts the Bravil Recommendation quest. (GameSpot; The Wizard’s Tower; Position Is Everything)
- Follow Kud-Ei’s lead and investigate the dispute between Ardaline and Varon Vamori, which centers on Ardaline’s Mage’s Staff.
The Remastered Mages Guild guide says recommendation quests have no minimum level or skill requirement. That applies to recommendation quests, not necessarily to later Mages Guild quests. (The Wizard’s Tower)
Question Varon Vamori
- Find and speak with Varon Vamori.
- Ask him about Ardaline and the Mage’s Staff. A TrueAchievements walkthrough says to raise Varon’s disposition above 70 before asking; treat this as that guide’s reported dialogue prerequisite, not a threshold independently verified here. (TrueAchievements)
Recover the Mage’s Staff and return to Kud-Ei
Recover Ardaline’s Mage’s Staff, then return to the Bravil Mages Guild and speak with Kud-Ei about the staff. Returning it to her completes the recommendation quest. The available walkthroughs establish the recovery-and-return sequence but do not establish that one particular method of recovering the staff is mandatory. If the recommendation dialogue does not appear
A community-edited reference flags the possibility that recommendation dialogue may not appear, but the available reports do not establish a reproducible bug or a guaranteed fix. (Elder Scrolls Fandom) Check that Bravil Recommendation is active in your quest log, then review Kud-Ei’s dialogue options. These are sensible checks, not a confirmed universal workaround.
