To complete Hostile Takeover in Act 4, speak with Ange in Kingsmarch, defeat Diamora in the Singing Caverns on Whakapanu Island, then travel with Ange to Shoreline and clear every monster. Finish by speaking with Ange from a hideout. Since version 0.3.0c, the final conversation can take place in any hideout.
Start the quest with Ange in Kingsmarch
In Act 4, find Ange in Kingsmarch and speak with her to begin Hostile Takeover. The quest is about finding a suitable place to establish a hideout.
Defeat Diamora in the Singing Caverns
- Travel to Whakapanu Island.
- Enter the Singing Caverns and defeat Diamora, Song of Death.
- Return to Ange in Kingsmarch and speak with her.
Travel to Shoreline and clear every enemy
- Use Ange’s dialogue to travel to Shoreline Hideout.
- Defeat all monsters in the Shoreline area. Clearing every enemy unlocks Shoreline as a hideout option.
- Speak with Ange after the area is clear.
Ange’s post-clear dialogue includes: “Well done! So… what do you think? I love it!”
Finish the quest from a hideout
Travel to a hideout and speak with Ange there to complete the quest. The quest page records that version 0.3.0c changed this final step so it can be completed in any hideout. Shoreline Hideout is the documented quest reward. Walkthroughs also report that Ange becomes a merchant NPC after completion; hideouts serve as hubs where invited NPCs can perform their town functions.

If the final conversation does not advance the quest
A September 2025 player report described the quest remaining on “speak to Ange” after conversations in another hideout. In that case, temporarily select Shoreline as your hideout and speak to Ange there. This is an anecdotal fallback, not a guaranteed fix, and predates the quest page’s version 0.3.0c note that any hideout should work.
