To complete the Shrine of the Crusader quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, finish the Pilgrimage, reach the underwater entrance to Vanua southeast of the Imperial City, and work through the ruin to retrieve the Helm. Before continuing, be sure to loot Sir Amiel’s key, ring, and journal; the ring is relevant to the Priory of the Nine questline that follows.
Before you go: finish the Pilgrimage
The Shrine of the Crusader quest begins when you complete the Pilgrimage. Once it appears, travel to Vanua to start the search for the Helm. This quest is part of the larger Priory of the Nine storyline.
Where is the Shrine of the Crusader?
The route begins at Vanua, southeast of the Imperial City, near the bridge crossing the Upper Niben. Its stone entrance is submerged in Lake Rumare, so dive down to reach the door. If you cannot breathe underwater for long, prepare an underwater-breathing spell or effect before entering the water.
How to reach Sir Amiel in Vanua
- Enter Vanua and follow the passage to its dead end.
- Press the block set into the wall to reveal the way forward.
- Continue through the ruin, passing the tomb and the broken section of wall.
- Follow the route into the central room, dropping down through the broken wall path as needed.
- Loot Sir Amiel’s skeleton for his key, ring, and journal. Take all three before moving on; the ring is needed later in the Priory of the Nine storyline.
Find the Helm of the Crusader
From Sir Amiel’s room, use the western gate and continue through the broken wall route into the Lost Catacombs. Follow the passage onward to the Shrine of the Crusader. The Helm is beside the blue-flame brazier. Take it to complete the quest objective.
