To complete Infiltrate the Charadrius in Metaphor: ReFantazio, defeat Sergeant Xanth for the Sergeant’s Magla Key, progress through the ship’s passages and corridors, then defeat Guard Chief Salva and Helmsman Cabio on the First Bridge. Take the Officer’s Magla Key back to Level 2 Passage, go through the Soldier’s Lounge to the Officers’ Lobby, and let the cutscene play. The walkthrough below covers the Brilehaven-arc operation, not the separate Charadrius encounter in the final dungeon.
When the operation takes place
The Charadrius dungeon is the location for the main-story operation “Infiltrate the Charadrius.” Game8 lists its in-game access date as 07/23 and its deadline as 08/12; these are dates on the game calendar, not real-world dates. Game8’s quest listing associates the operation with those dates.

Prepare before boarding
Save at Warship Harbour before boarding the Charadrius. The detailed community walkthrough used here is a PS4 guide updated July 22, 2025, and describes a party around levels 32–35. Its setup is a worked example, not a requirement: the protagonist uses Merchant early and Sniper for the First Bridge, Strohl uses Warrior/Commander, Hulkenberg uses Knight/Magic Knight, and Heismay uses Thief/Faker. Your available Archetypes and skills can differ.
- At the first Soldier’s Lounge, enter to make it a quick-travel destination, then save.
- Before the First Bridge fight, restore the party’s HP and aim to have about 88 MP available for synthesis skills, following the guide’s recommendation.
Defeat Sergeant Xanth in the Crew Quarters
Enter the Crew Quarters. When soldiers block the way forward, speak with them and follow the resulting objective to deal with the guards. The walkthrough favors fighting them for experience, money, and MAG, although the story setup also offers a stealth-oriented choice. Clear the guards and collect nearby items if useful.

When the encounter with Sergeant Xanth becomes available, choose to wait so you can prepare before entering his quarters. Defeating him grants the Sergeant’s Magla Key and opens the way to Level 1 Passage. The route and reward are detailed in the community walkthrough.
Follow Level 1 Passage and choose a corridor
Use the Soldier’s Lounge to save or quick-travel as needed. At the intersection, the route splits between Starboard Corridor and Port Corridor. The walkthrough proceeds through Starboard and Maintenance Chief Ceiba, then visits Port Corridor for the optional Master Sergeant Glechom encounter before returning to Level 2 Passage.

Required progression
Keep the main objective in view: progress through the passages and obtain the keys needed to reach and finish the First Bridge fight. The guide’s route includes Maintenance Chief Ceiba and continues to Level 2 Passage. Detailed item pickups and guard tactics are available in the full route guide, but are not needed to understand the operation’s central progression.
Optional: Master Sergeant Glechom
Glechom is labeled optional in the guide. You can take the Port Corridor detour to fight him, or skip that encounter and continue the main objective; do not treat Glechom as a required boss for completing the operation.

Beat Salva and Cabio on the First Bridge
Before opening the Exhaust Vent, restore your party and prepare for Guard Chief Salva and Helmsman Cabio. Both enemies are level 34 in the walkthrough. Their listed affinities point to different attacks, so split your offense rather than relying on one damage type.

Use Pierce or Almighty against Salva and Electricity against Cabio when your party has those skills available. The affinity information and level are from the walkthrough’s First Bridge encounter details; they are guidance for choosing attacks, not a required party build.

Return to the Officers’ Lobby to finish
- After both enemies fall, take the Officer’s Magla Key.
- Return to Level 2 Passage and go through the Soldier’s Lounge.
- Take the stairs up to the Officers’ Lobby.
- Let the cutscene play. This is the operation-completion point described by the walkthrough.
What the Charadrius is
The in-game Memorandum’s Magic entry describes the Charadrius as “A military-grade gauntlet runner that Louis is based out of.” The walkthrough relays that it was the first gauntlet runner in history to achieve sustained flight and that it is a flagship of the royal army. The quoted sentence is attributed to the in-game Memorandum; no speaker is named.
