To complete it, create a Young Adult Broccoli founder, start with §0, finish every requirement for each vegetable-themed generation, and successfully pass the legacy to a Generation 10 heir. The creator currently describes the rules as still being tested, so use the official rules spreadsheet as the current authority.
How to start the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge
- Create exactly one Young Adult founder Sim. The founder should not be created as an Adult.
- Dress the Sim in the dark-green Broccoli theme.
- Assign the Generation 1 traits: Creative, Art Lover, and High Maintenance.
- Give the founder the Lord/Lady of the Knits aspiration.
- Choose the founder’s likes, dislikes, gender, romantic orientation, and other preferences yourself.
- Move the household onto an empty lot.
- Set the household’s money to §0 before beginning normal gameplay.

On PC or Mac, enter Live Mode and press Ctrl + Shift + C. Enter these as two separate commands:

On Xbox, open the console with LB + LT + RB + RT. On PlayStation, press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2. Enter testingcheats on, then money 0. On console, using testing cheats disables achievements for the current save, according to EA’s console guidance.

The rules that apply across all ten generations
- Complete all listed careers, aspirations, skills, and additional objectives.
- Have children and choose one child to become the next heir.
- The heir can be selected by any method. Firstborn succession and a particular gender are not required.
- A generation is passed on when its objectives are complete and the chosen heir becomes a Young Adult.
- You may move to another neighborhood or lot when the household can afford it.
- Avoid money and gameplay cheats after the initial §0 setup.
- If you do not own a required pack, use the substitution or Base Game alternative listed by the creator.
The rules are guidelines rather than an immutable official ruleset. If you use substitutions or accessibility adjustments, record them if you want your save to be comparable with other players’ challenges.
The ten Very Veggie generations
Generation 1: Broccoli
Color: Dark green. Traits: Creative, Art Lover, High Maintenance. Aspiration: Lord/Lady of the Knits. Career: No formal career.
- Run a small business selling crafted goods.
- Achieve a five-star business.
- Max Wellness.
- Max up to three artistic skills of your choice.
“Up to three” does not mean you must max every artistic skill. The creator’s list includes Painting, Writing, Photography, Knitting, Cross-Stitching, Pottery, Tattooing, Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, Mixology, Baking, DJ Mixing, Flower Arranging, Juice Fizzing, Fabrication, Piano, Pipe Organ, Violin, and Guitar. Pick three and max those three.
The standard route uses Businesses & Hobbies, Spa Day, and Nifty Knitting. To register the business, use the cash-register Owned Businesses panel in Live Mode and choose Register Small Business. You can also use the phone’s Business app or a computer’s Small Business category. The setup menu lets you choose the name, description, logo, activities, target customers, entrance fee, lot, and price modifier. EA’s current instructions are available in its Small Business setup guide.

A small business may operate from your residential lot, a Small Business Venue Lot, or an existing community lot fitted with a ticket kiosk. A household can have only one business open at a time.
Generation 2: Eggplant
Color: Purple. Traits: Evil, Romantic, Bro. Career: Romance Consultant. Aspiration: Villainous Valentine.
- As an Adult, wear the eggplant costume for every outfit.
- Grow giant eggplants.
- Become a nectar connoisseur and maintain a nectar cellar.
- Max Romance, Fitness, Nectar Making, and Dancing.
The costume requirement begins when the Sim becomes an Adult. It does not require the costume during childhood, the Teen stage, or the earlier Young Adult stage. The rule also does not prohibit romance before adulthood.
Generation 3: Carrot
Color: Orange. Traits: Horse Lover, Unflirty, Loner. Aspiration: Championship Rider. Career: No formal career; earn money through horse contests.

- Attend university and graduate with at least a B.
- Choose the major and post-graduation career.
- Complete both aspirations.
- Max Logic, Video Gaming, and Research & Debate.
- Max the career benefited by the degree.
Generation 5: Potato
Color: Brown. Traits: Freegan, Nosy, Slob. Aspiration: Five-Star Property Owner. Career: No formal career.

- Earn money through dumpster diving and landlording.
- Befriend a Dust Bunny.
- Max Fabrication, Baking, and Mischief.
- Primarily furnish the home and rental units with furniture obtained from dumpsters.
The creator notes that the Bust the Dust aspiration is broken and may be ignored entirely. You do not need to buy that pack solely to complete this generation.

Color: White. Traits: Paranoid, Bookworm, Skeptical. Career: Undertaker. Aspiration: Ghost Historian.
- Max Thanatology, Gemology, Medium, and Writing.
- Complete your Soul’s Journey.
- Live in a Haunted House.
- Marry a ghost.
Generation 8: Radish
Color: Pink. Traits: Adventurous, Chased By Death, Active. Career: Freelance Artist. Aspiration: Extreme Sports Enthusiast.

- Never cook. Eat food prepared by other Sims; use “peas” quick meals from the refrigerator only when nobody has prepared a real meal.
Required packs and substitutions
The standard rules use content from many packs, including Businesses & Hobbies, Spa Day, Nifty Knitting, Lovestruck, Get Together, Cottage Living, Horse Ranch, City Living, Discover University, For Rent, Eco Lifestyle, Get to Work, Bust the Dust, Seasons, High School Years, Home Chef Hustle, Life & Death, Crystal Creations, Paranormal, Snowy Escape, Jungle Adventure, and Get Famous.
You do not need every pack to attempt the challenge. Check the creator’s pack-substitution and Base Game tabs before starting. Listed examples include:

When the challenge is complete
You have completed the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge when you have finished all ten generations, completed every required aspiration, career, skill, and generation-specific objective, and successfully passed succession from the founder through the Generation 10 heir.
Because this is an unofficial challenge and the creator says it is still being tested, check the official rules document and spreadsheet for later changes before beginning a new save. Existing players should decide whether to adopt rule updates mid-playthrough or keep the version they started with.
