The three settings that matter are voteMissionPlayers, which determines when mission voting can begin; voteThreshold, which sets the share of votes required; and allowedVoteCmds[], which controls individual vote commands and can assign a different threshold to each one.

The safest configuration is to set those values explicitly, restart the server, and test with a normal player account. Bohemia Interactive’s wiki documents the command structure, but engine defaults and some disabling methods are not consistently confirmed across versions, so do not rely on an assumed default.

What Arma 3 voting settings control
Voting is not one switch in Arma 3. The server evaluates when voting becomes available, how much support a vote needs, and which commands are permitted. Those jobs are split among three server.cfg entries.
| Setting | Scope | What it controls | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
voteMissionPlayers |
Global mission-vote trigger | How many connected players start mission voting | The engine default is not confirmed; set a value explicitly. |
voteThreshold |
Global vote requirement | The share of votes needed to confirm a vote | A per-command value in allowedVoteCmds[] takes precedence where one is defined. |
allowedVoteCmds[] |
Individual commands | Whether a command is available before or after a mission, plus an optional command-specific threshold | The exact field order should be checked against the wiki for the Arma 3 build you run. |
The official reference is Bohemia Interactive’s Arma 3 Mission Voting wiki page. Its wording covers changes present since Arma 3 1.39 DEV and later builds, so an older or modified server may behave differently.

voteMissionPlayers: when a mission vote starts
voteMissionPlayers sets the number of connected players that causes mission voting to start. It is a trigger, not a percentage and not the number of votes required to win. For example, a value of 1 is commonly used in host configurations to make voting available with a single connected player. That example is a configuration choice, not proof of the engine’s built-in default.
Do not confuse this setting with the number of players who must approve a mission. Approval is governed by the threshold settings. If voting never appears, check this trigger first, then inspect the command list and the mission list allowed by the server.
voteThreshold: the global approval share
voteThreshold is a fractional share. A value of 0.33 is commonly described by host guides as requiring 33 percent of the players to vote yes. It is written as a decimal, not as 33 or 33%.
The setting is global only where an entry in allowedVoteCmds[] does not provide its own threshold. A command-specific threshold overrides the global value for that command. This distinction matters when you want ordinary players to vote on a mission but require stronger agreement for an administrative action.
The default threshold is not established consistently. One guide reports 0.33, while other snippets discuss a 0.5 fallback for a per-command entry without an explicit value. Treat both as claims about particular configurations or builds, not as a universal engine default. Set the value yourself and verify the result on the live server.
allowedVoteCmds[]: which votes exist and where
Each array entry contains a command name, a pre-mission flag, a post-mission flag, and optionally a threshold. The flags determine whether that command can be voted before a mission starts, after a mission ends, or in both phases. If the optional threshold is omitted, the global voteThreshold applies to that command.

allowedVoteCmds[] = {
{"admin", true, true, 0.5}
};
In that entry, admin is the command name, both Boolean flags are enabled, and the command-specific threshold is 0.5. Because community copies sometimes present the fields differently, verify the field order for your build before deploying a large command list. A syntactically valid-looking entry with the wrong order can produce a policy different from the one you intended.
Prepare the server before changing voting
- Identify the active configuration. Confirm which
server.cfgis passed to the running Arma 3 server. Hosting panels can expose several configuration files, and editing an unused copy has no effect. - Record the server build. Voting behaviour can depend on the Arma 3 build. The wiki reference specifically mentions changes since 1.39 DEV and later revisions.
- Stop the server or use its documented maintenance procedure. Make changes while the configuration is not being rewritten by a control panel or shutdown process.
- Back up the original file. Keep a copy of the working configuration so you can roll back one change at a time.
- Check the mission policy. Keep the active mission list and any
missionWhitelist[]settings available while testing. A mission that is not permitted by the server can make a voting problem look like a threshold problem.
A minimal, explicit voting configuration
This is a compact starting point using values published in host examples:
voteMissionPlayers = 1;
voteThreshold = 0.33;
allowedVoteCmds[] = {
{"admin", true, true, 0.5}
};
This example deliberately sets all three controls instead of inheriting an engine default. It allows voting to be triggered at one connected player, uses a global threshold of 0.33, and gives the admin command its own 0.5 threshold. The command name is shown because it appears in the documented example; do not assume that this single entry represents every command available on your server.
Configuration syntax is significant:
- Each assignment ends with a semicolon.
- The array uses braces around the complete list and around each entry.
- Boolean values are written as
trueorfalse. - Thresholds are decimal fractions such as
0.33and0.5. - Do not add a percent sign to a threshold.
If you need more than one command, add another comma-separated entry inside the outer braces. Give an entry its own threshold only when you intentionally want it to differ from the global policy.
Configure voting step by step
1. Choose the trigger
Decide how many connected players should make the voting interface available and set voteMissionPlayers to that number. A value of 1 is useful for a server that wants voting available during a solo test. A larger value delays voting until more players are connected. The setting does not itself decide which mission wins.
2. Set the global threshold
Enter a decimal between the policy you intend to enforce and the syntax accepted by your build, for example:
voteThreshold = 0.33;
Use an explicit value rather than relying on an undocumented default. Remember that the threshold describes the share needed to confirm a vote; the exact rounding and participation behaviour should be checked with a live test because the available documentation does not establish every edge case.

3. Define the permitted commands
Add allowedVoteCmds[] entries for the commands players may vote on. For each entry, decide independently whether it is available in the pre-mission phase, the post-mission phase, or both. Use false for a phase in which the command should not appear.
For example, this entry enables the shown command in both phases and requires a 0.5 threshold:
allowedVoteCmds[] = {
{"admin", true, true, 0.5}
};
If you omit the final number for an entry, that command should use the global voteThreshold according to the wiki’s documented model. Because the exact field order is version-sensitive in community examples, compare your final syntax with the current wiki before restarting a public server.
4. Save, restart, and observe the startup output
Save the file, restart the server, and inspect the startup or server log for configuration parsing errors. A restart is important: changing a file on disk does not prove that the running process loaded it. If a control panel generates server.cfg, make the change in the panel’s source configuration or it may overwrite your edit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems5. Test both voting phases
Connect with a regular player account and test the exact phase in which each command should appear. Check a pre-mission lobby, start or complete a mission as appropriate, and then check the post-mission phase. Record which command appears, how many connected players are present, and whether the vote succeeds at the configured threshold.
6. Change one variable at a time
If the test fails, do not change all three settings simultaneously. First confirm the trigger, then the command entry, then the threshold. This isolates whether the problem is availability, phase flags, command syntax, or approval percentage.
Design a voting policy with global and per-command thresholds
A practical policy starts with a global threshold and adds command-specific overrides only where the consequences differ. The following patterns describe how the settings interact without assuming an undocumented command catalog.

| Policy goal | Configuration approach | What to test |
|---|---|---|
| Allow ordinary mission voting at a lower bar | Set a global value such as 0.33; omit a per-command threshold for the mission-vote entry. |
Confirm that the mission vote appears and succeeds only when the observed share reaches the configured value. |
| Require stronger agreement for one command | Add that command with an explicit threshold such as 0.5. |
Verify that the command uses its entry value rather than the global value. |
| Allow a command only before a mission | Set its pre-mission flag to true and post-mission flag to false. |
Check that it appears in the lobby but not after the mission. |
| Allow a command only after a mission | Set its pre-mission flag to false and post-mission flag to true. |
Check both phases so a misplaced Boolean is caught. |
| Use one policy everywhere | Use the global voteThreshold and avoid command-specific overrides. |
Confirm that every permitted entry omits its own threshold and inherits the intended value. |
Keep a written map of each entry’s command name, phase flags, and threshold. This is especially useful when a server has separate pre- and post-mission rules: the same command can be available in both phases but require the same or different treatment only if the configuration syntax supports the distinction you have chosen.
How to disable voting
Disabling voting is the least settled part of the available guidance. Community reports describe several approaches, and they do not all behave consistently across users or builds.
Preferred first test: an empty command array
allowedVoteCmds[] = {};
A Steam discussion reports that an empty allowedVoteCmds[] removes all vote commands. This is the clearest policy statement: if no commands are allowed, there is nothing for players to vote on. Treat it as community-reported behaviour, not a guarantee for every Arma 3 build. Restart the server and test with a regular player account after applying it.
Alternative syntax reported by the community
Another discussion reports:
allowedVoteCmds = 0;
This form is not equivalent in appearance to an empty array, and one user reported that it did not change behaviour. Do not deploy it as a universal solution. If you test it, keep a backup and verify that no voting command appears in either phase.
Very high thresholds are not a reliable off switch
Some host guides suggest voteThreshold = 999;, while another table cites 9999 as a disabling value. A separate report says that 9999 did not change behaviour for one user. Those conflicting observations mean a high threshold should not be your only control. If your objective is to remove voting, start with an empty allowedVoteCmds[], restart, and test; only then investigate another method for the specific build and host environment.
Troubleshoot “mission voting is not showing”
A normal player may see no mission-vote option even when a host expects the default 33 percent threshold to allow it. An older forum thread attributed this symptom to three areas: voteThreshold, the entries in allowedVoteCmds[], and missionWhitelist[]. The thread is old, so use it as a diagnostic lead rather than proof of current engine behaviour.
Check the trigger first
- Count the connected players at the moment you expect voting to begin.
- Compare that count with
voteMissionPlayers. - Confirm the edited file is the one loaded by the running server.
- Restart after changing the value and test again.
Check that a command is actually allowed
- Inspect
allowedVoteCmds[]for an entry corresponding to the vote you expect. - Confirm the relevant pre-mission or post-mission flag is
true. - Check commas, braces, quotation marks, and the terminating semicolon.
- If the list is empty, no command should be expected to appear.
Check the threshold in the correct place
- Read the command entry first. An explicit entry threshold overrides the global value.
- If the entry has no threshold, inspect
voteThreshold. - Use decimal notation, such as
0.33, rather than a percentage string. - Do not assume that a missing value falls back to 0.33 or 0.5 on every build.
Check mission availability
Review missionWhitelist[] and the mission currently being requested. A mission that the server does not permit may not be offered through voting, even if the vote command itself is configured correctly.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.

The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Check phase and account
Test before and after a mission separately. A command with only one phase flag enabled will not appear in the other phase. Also test with a normal player account rather than relying only on an administrator interface, because the reported symptom specifically concerns what a regular player sees.
Check the build and logs
Compare the server’s Arma 3 build with the current wiki description, especially if it is based on an older branch or a long-lived configuration. Then inspect the server log for rejected or malformed settings. If the log identifies a syntax error, restore the backup and reintroduce one setting at a time.

Run the matrix with the same player count and mission conditions each time. That makes a configuration change distinguishable from a change in lobby state or mission availability.
Version and default-value cautions
Arma 3 voting behaviour is build-dependent. The official wiki reference mentions functionality since 1.39 DEV and later changes, while community guides and forum posts describe particular host setups rather than a single guaranteed default. The following values therefore require explicit handling:
- Default
voteThreshold: not confirmed. Reports mention 0.33 and a 0.5 fallback in different contexts. - Default
voteMissionPlayers: not confirmed. One guide reports 1, while another example uses 0 with a mission-selection description. - Disable syntax: community reports mention an empty array,
allowedVoteCmds = 0, and very high thresholds, with conflicting results.
Explicit values plus a restart test are safer than inheriting any of these disputed behaviours. When upgrading the server, revisit the current wiki entry and repeat the verification matrix rather than assuming that an old configuration still has the same effect.
