Short answer: the reviewed documentation does not establish that “Astra Streaming” can publish directly to YouTube or has a place to enter a YouTube stream key. YouTube’s verified workflow is to enter its server URL and stream key in a compatible encoder. First confirm which Astra product you mean and whether it can send an RTMP or RTMPS feed to YouTube; the steps below cover the YouTube side without assuming an undocumented Astra feature.
What the Astra documentation confirms—and what it does not
The name “Astra Streaming” can refer to different products. Cesbo Astra’s documentation describes streams that receive content, process it, and deliver it to clients. Its documented inputs include HLS, HTTP MPEG-TS, UDP/RTP, SRT, and RTSP; its documented outputs include HTTP Play for HLS or HTTP MPEG-TS and certain broadcast-hardware outputs. Cesbo’s HTTP Play documentation describes serving a channel by ID to clients over HLS or HTTP MPEG-TS. It says HTTP Play is disabled by default and notes that HLS affects on-demand behavior and consumes RAM. That is client delivery from Astra, not a confirmed publishing path to YouTube. A separate AstraStream setup center covers IPTV portal credentials, Xtream Codes, M3U playlists, EPG, and player apps. That material does not establish the YouTube encoder workflow in this guide, and the available documentation does not resolve which Astra product the title refers to. AstraStream setup center.

Consequently, do not paste your YouTube key into an Astra field unless the documentation for your exact Astra product and version explicitly says that it accepts YouTube’s publishing URL and key. If Astra only exposes an HLS or HTTP MPEG-TS client URL, that alone does not show that it can push a live feed to YouTube.
Get the YouTube server URL and stream key
- Open YouTube Studio and choose Create > Go Live.
- In Live Control Room, open the Stream tab. If this is your first stream, create one when prompted. YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown by YouTube. YouTube’s help page describes reusing prior stream settings, including a stream key, and changing privacy among public, private, and unlisted. Interface labels can change, so follow the current Live Control Room screen. YouTube: Create a live stream with an encoder.
The stream key is a credential: it tells an encoder where to send the feed and lets YouTube accept it. Keep it private. If it is exposed, a channel owner or manager can reset it in Live Control Room; then replace the old key in the encoder with the new one. YouTube: Manage live stream settings.

Connect a compatible encoder
- In the encoder, choose YouTube as the service if it is offered. Otherwise choose the custom server option and enter the YouTube server URL in the encoder’s server or URL field.
- Paste the YouTube stream key into the encoder’s separate Stream Key field. Do not confuse it with the server URL.
- Start streaming from the encoder. For a scheduled broadcast, wait until its preview appears in Live Control Room, then click Go live if YouTube presents that control. Starting the encoder sends the feed; it does not necessarily publish a scheduled stream by itself.

If you are trying to use Astra as the encoder, check the documentation for your exact product and version for an explicit YouTube, RTMP, or RTMPS publishing option. The reviewed Astra pages do not establish those steps.
Use RTMPS when your encoder supports it
YouTube describes RTMPS as RTMP carried over TLS/SSL and recommends it where supported. In Live Control Room, open the Stream tab or schedule a stream, then use the lock control in the Stream URL area to reveal the RTMPS address. Enter that address in an RTMPS-capable encoder and enter the key separately. YouTube: Stream using RTMPS.

- SSL error: check that the URL begins with
rtmps. YouTube also suggests trying port 443 if needed. - Connection timeout: verify the server URL and confirm that the encoder supports RTMPS. A standard RTMP-only encoder cannot use an RTMPS address unless it supports that protocol.
Troubleshoot the connection
