This does not give you items you do not own: you may need to obtain those through the Marketplace. Roblox does not document one universal “copy and paste” button or identical steps for every device.
What “copying” a Roblox outfit means
Copying an outfit means assembling the avatar items that make up the look on your own account, then saving that configuration for later. It is not a transfer of another player’s avatar or ownership of their items.
Roblox’s Avatar Inspect Menu can show another user’s avatar and let you try on items within an experience. The outfit displayed there may differ from the player’s current appearance. See Roblox’s Avatar Inspect Menu documentation.
Choose how to recreate the look

Inspect and try on another player’s avatar
- Join an experience where the Avatar Inspect Menu is available.
- Open the inspect menu for the player whose look you want to recreate. The precise controls can vary by experience and device; Roblox’s documentation does not establish one button sequence for all platforms.
- Review the avatar items and try on the ones you want to preview.
- If you want to use an item beyond a try-on, check whether you own it or can obtain it through the Marketplace.
Trying on an item is a preview, not proof that it has been added to your inventory. The inspect menu can also show an outfit that is not the player’s current appearance.

Assemble and save the outfit
- Open Roblox’s Avatar Editor and use its current controls to equip the items you want. Roblox documents the editor’s ability to access inventory with permission, search the Marketplace, equip avatar items, and save outfits; it does not specify one consumer-facing sequence of buttons that is identical on web, desktop, and mobile. - Find any missing pieces in the Roblox Marketplace. It includes digital avatar items such as clothing, accessories, bodies, heads, and animations, and is available through Roblox on the web or in the app.
- Use the Avatar Editor’s current outfit-saving option to save the assembled look. Roblox’s developer documentation describes
PromptCreateOutfit()as saving aHumanoidDescriptionas an outfit without overwriting the current avatar.
The saved outfit is a configuration, not a bundle of newly acquired items. Roblox states that saving an avatar or outfit does not give you catalog items you do not own.

If an item is missing or the steps look different
- You can preview an item but cannot keep using it: Check whether you own it. A try-on does not grant ownership.
- You cannot find an item in the editor: Search for it in the Marketplace; Roblox’s documentation describes Marketplace search as part of the avatar-editor capabilities.
- Your controls do not match a guide: Roblox’s published documentation does not confirm a universal copy-and-paste control or a single cross-platform sequence. Follow the labels currently shown in the Avatar Editor or app rather than assuming another device uses the same steps.
