Different items use different crafter types, and recipe availability, NPC locations, and ingredients can change with updates—so check the current recipe before farming.
How to craft an item
- Choose the item. Decide what you want to make, then look it up in the in-game crafting list. The game’s guide says craftable items can be checked in the client and must be made through their respective crafters. Official crafting guide
- Check the recipe details. Note the materials, quantities, and crafter category shown for that specific item. Requirements vary; for example, the 4.0.0 notes state that material quantities for Nix equipment depend on the equipment type. Update 4.0.0 notes
- Gather the listed materials. Use the sources named in the recipe or current game information. Examples from Update 4.0.0 include Purification materials for Shemir’s Ember recipes, Epic Co-op Dungeon rewards for Dimensional Essence recipes, and field events, Tumgir Hollow, and Purification for some Frozen Scroll materials.
- Go to the matching crafter. Find the NPC category specified by the recipe, confirm its location in the current client, and complete the recipe there. The available sources do not establish the exact button labels or click sequence in the current client, so follow the live interface rather than an older step-by-step guide.
Which crafter should you use?
Use the crafter category named by the recipe, not simply the nearest NPC. A 2023 guide lists Weapon, Armor, Accessories, Scroll, and Sundries Crafters, but its location and rarity details may not match the current client. Treat them as historical guidance and verify where a crafter is now and which recipes it offers. Official crafting guide

Update 4.0.0 gives more recent, update-specific examples. It assigned Nix equipment recipes to Weapon, Armor, and Accessory crafters in the Nix Border Zone village, and certain skill items to the Skill Crafter there. These examples are not a complete current recipe directory.

Where to get crafting materials
The recipe’s current material list is the best starting point because sources differ by item. Official examples include Purification, Epic Co-op Dungeon rewards, field events, and Tumgir Hollow. Contracts can also provide crafting materials. For players level 40 and above, the official progression guide describes the Auction House as an option for checking whether desired materials are listed. The Lithograph Book can provide selected gear and materials in exchange for specified item turn-ins; the progression guide says players can target desired rewards instead of completing the entire book. However, its entries are version-sensitive. Update 4.0.0 said new equipment entries were seasonal and that existing equipment entries would end on July 16, 2026. That date has passed, so do not assume those entries or rewards remain available; check the current book in-game. Update 4.0.0 notes

What to do if a recipe is missing or different
- Recheck the live crafting list before gathering. The recipe may have changed, been removed, or become unavailable.
- Confirm that you are looking at the right item and crafter category; the game separates crafting by crafter type.
- Check current patch notes if older guides show different ingredients, NPC locations, or recipe availability. Update 4.0.0 added hundreds of Nix gear recipes and other recipes, while also removing recipes tied to obsolete items.
- Consider other acquisition routes if crafting is not available. The official progression guide notes that desirable gear can also come from Archbosses and Field Bosses, and discusses drops, Codex rewards, and the Auction House as progression options. Why crafting matters for progression
The official progression guide describes crafting as increasingly important later in the game and as a way to pursue stronger gear before or alongside seeking dropped rewards. The right route depends on whether the recipe is currently available, whether you can access its material sources, and whether another acquisition method suits your goal.
An older official business-model article also gives examples of crafted Growth Stones and Skill Training Books, but item names and recipes may have changed. Use the live crafting list rather than relying on those examples as current instructions. Official business model article
