How to open your Steam 2024 Retrospective
To create or view your Steam 2024 Retrospective, sign in to the Steam account whose activity you want to review, then open the Steam Replay page. You can also look for Steam Replay 2024 on the Store home page in the Steam PC client. Once the recap loads, scroll through your statistics and use Steam’s available share or download controls to save it.

Steam Replay is an account-specific, year-in-review summary—not a separate product you need to buy. It uses activity Steam recorded for your account during 2024 and presents it as a browsable recap that you can share.
Open Steam Replay 2024 on the web
- Open Steam’s Steam Replay page in a web browser.
- Select Sign in if prompted.
- Log in to the Steam account whose 2024 activity you want to see.
- Scroll through the retrospective to review your games, playtime, achievements, and other highlights.
- Use the sharing or download option shown by Steam if you want to preserve or post the recap.
You must be signed in because the retrospective is generated from your account activity. If Steam sends you to a login page first, complete the sign-in and return to the Replay page.

Open it in the Steam PC client
- Launch the Steam desktop client and sign in.
- Open the Store tab.
- Look for the Steam Replay 2024 banner on the Store home page.
- If the banner is missing, check the Store’s New and Noteworthy area.
- If the layout has changed, use the Store page’s search or navigation and search for Steam Replay.
Steam periodically changes client navigation and promotional banners, so the original banner or menu location may no longer be visible. The web route is usually the simplest alternative.
What Steam Replay 2024 can show
The exact cards and sections can vary by account and by the activity Steam has available. Your recap can typically include:
- Games played: the total number of games associated with your recorded 2024 activity.
- Achievements: achievements unlocked during the year.
- Longest gaming streak: your longest consecutive play streak.
- Top games: your most-played titles, often with sessions played for the leading games.
- New, recent, and classic games: a breakdown of how your playtime was distributed among these categories.
- Genres: a spider graph showing your play profile across different game genres.
- Monthly activity: playtime by month, with deeper month-by-month information for the top games where available.
- Devices: how your playtime was divided across devices.
- Steam Family activity: relevant playtime information across a Steam Family, where the feature has data to display.
- Social and profile highlights: new friends added and badges earned may appear in the recap.
Not every user will see every category, and the order or design of the cards may differ from screenshots published when Steam Replay launched.
How to save or share your retrospective
After reviewing the recap, look for Steam’s sharing controls within the Replay page. Depending on the options currently shown, you may be able to share the result with Steam friends or outside Steam. A download control may also be available for saving a copy.

For a longer-lasting record on your Steam profile, you can add a Steam Replay profile showcase through your profile’s showcase options. This is optional: viewing the retrospective does not require a Steam Deck, capture card, headset, gift card, or any other physical product.
If the Steam Replay showcase is missing
First check the Replay’s visibility settings and your Steam profile privacy settings. Community reports have described showcase-visibility problems, but those reports are anecdotal and do not establish one universal bug or one guaranteed fix. If Steam no longer offers the showcase or the 2024 recap in your account, there may not be a permanent profile option to add.
Does viewing Steam Replay 2024 give you a badge?
Yes. Viewing the 2024 Replay awards the Steam Replay 2024 badge. A Steam Community badge record lists the badge as worth 50 XP and identifies viewing the 2024 Replay as the unlock condition.

You do not need to play a minimum number of games, unlock a particular number of achievements, or reach a required number of hours to earn it. The documented condition is viewing the Replay.
Why your totals may look lower than expected
Steam Replay is a useful recap, but it is not necessarily a perfect record of every minute you played. The 2024 recap may exclude time played while Steam was offline or disconnected from the internet.
In practical terms, Steam Replay reflects activity Steam was able to record. Offline or disconnected sessions may not appear, so treat the totals as a year-in-review snapshot rather than a complete lifetime playtime ledger. This can explain differences between Replay and another tracking tool, your own notes, or the hours you remember playing.

Optional: make a richer social post
You do not need extra software to view, save, or share the retrospective. If you want to make a video or a more elaborate social post, Steam’s Game Recording feature can provide recording modes, clip creation, MP4 export, and sharing options where supported. These tools are optional and separate from Steam Replay; they are useful only if you want to add gameplay clips or screenshots around your recap.
