Create two named playlists in YouTube Studio to help viewers choose between daytime and nighttime Indian music. Those playlists organize videos on your channel; they do not automatically change the audio of a continuous live broadcast. To change what a live stream plays, configure separate media sources or scenes in an encoder such as OBS and switch between them, or schedule separate live events. In every case, make sure you have the rights needed to stream each track.
First decide what the playlists should do

YouTube Studio manages playlists, while Live Control Room and an encoder manage the stream itself. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not document a playlist-driven, time-triggered change to a continuous live stream. Scheduling promotes an upcoming broadcast; it does not automate a day-to-night audio transition.
Create the daytime and nighttime playlists in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → New playlist.
- Create the first playlist with a clear title, such as “Indian Music — Daytime.” Add a description that tells viewers what the collection is for. Repeat for “Indian Music — Nighttime.” These are sample names, not required platform labels.
- Choose the visibility that fits your audience: public for discovery and sharing, unlisted for sharing by link, or private for internal curation. Check the current interface behavior before publishing, especially on supervised accounts.
- Add the videos intended for each collection. Arrange them in the order you want; YouTube Studio supports reordering. Review the lists periodically and remove videos that are no longer available.
- Keep the titles and descriptions distinct. If you want viewers to find both collections, link them from relevant channel surfaces, a pinned comment, or the stream description.
YouTube Help lists a 150-character playlist-title limit and a 5,000-character description limit. It also notes a daily cap on public playlist creation across YouTube, YouTube Music, and the API; consult the current YouTube Studio playlist instructions for applicable account details.
If you also make playlists in YouTube Music, its playlists appear in YouTube and YouTube Music libraries, but YouTube Music focuses on music videos and some content or account restrictions apply. See YouTube Music’s playlist instructions.

Make one continuous live stream change from day to night
For an actual audio change within one broadcast, set up the media in your encoder. In OBS, you can create separate Day and Night scenes, or maintain separate media sources and switch between them. The OBS VLC Video Source can hold a playlist of local media files, with loop and shuffle controls; VLC must be installed for that source to appear. OBS also supports scene-switching hotkeys. These are building blocks for a manual or operator-controlled transition, not evidence of a built-in clock-based transition.
- Prepare the media. Put only the tracks cleared for the stream in the appropriate day and night sequences. Keep copies organized so you can identify which files are in each rotation.
- Install VLC if using a VLC Video Source. In OBS, add a VLC Video Source and populate its playlist with the local files for that rotation. The OBS Project explains that this source can create a playlist of items, unlike a basic Media Source: OBS Media Sources.
- Set playback behavior. Turn shuffle off for a fixed sequence. Enable looping if the rotation should repeat. If you use separate scenes, give each one a clear name, such as Day and Night, and add the relevant source to each.
- Configure and test a scene-switch hotkey, or assign an operator. Switch at the intended transition time. OBS documents scene switching and hotkeys in its overview guide. Test the change before relying on it during a live broadcast.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Use YouTube Live Control Room’s stream settings to connect the encoder with the server URL and stream key. YouTube documents the settings in Manage live stream settings; keep the stream key private because it functions as a credential.
This approach depends on the encoder remaining connected and running. YouTube’s stream configuration and the OBS media rotation are separate: YouTube receives the encoder’s output, while the encoder determines which media is currently being sent.

Schedule separate daytime and nighttime broadcasts
When the two periods are separate programs rather than one continuous stream, create two events in YouTube Live Control Room. Give each its own title, description, start time, and intended content. YouTube says scheduling lets you promote a stream; an upcoming event can be shared and viewers can opt into reminders. Scheduling is not a day/night audio automation feature. Clear music rights before streaming
Having access to a song or putting it in a YouTube playlist does not establish permission to include it in a live broadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions say the provider represents that it has the necessary rights for live content on Google services, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, public-performance licenses, and other royalty participants.

The applicable permissions depend on the repertoire and territory. The reviewed platform guidance does not determine which Indian licenses, collecting-society permissions, or direct clearances a particular channel needs. Verify the rights for every track and intended territory rather than assuming that a playlist’s availability clears live use.
Choose the workflow that fits your channel
- Use YouTube playlists when the goal is viewer navigation between curated daytime and nighttime collections.
- Use OBS sources or scenes when one ongoing broadcast must change what it plays. Plan for a manual switch or a configured operator workflow; the documented ingredients do not by themselves provide a clock-triggered transition.
- Schedule separate events when you want distinct program listings, watch pages, promotion, and reminders rather than one continuous session.
