Yes—Xbox and PC players can squad up in Rainbow Six Siege. On Xbox, open Options → Crossplay & Input Devices and choose PC & Consoles. That puts the console player in the PC matchmaking pool. Ubisoft’s current guide describes that pool as allowing squads with PC and console players, and Xbox players can use a controller or mouse and keyboard. Ubisoft’s July 10, 2026 guide says the feature arrived with the July 14, 2026 Y11S2.2 update.
Set Xbox matchmaking to PC & Consoles
- Launch Rainbow Six Siege on Xbox and open Options.
- Choose Crossplay & Input Devices.
- Select PC & Consoles. This is the pool that allows Xbox players to matchmake with PC players; the console-only options do not.
- Invite your PC friend or join their squad using the game’s social or squad flow. Ubisoft documents cross-platform squad invitations through Ubisoft Connect in its Y7S4 Crossplay Update.
- Check the squad panel or pre-match notice to confirm the allowed input devices. The squad leader’s crossplay setting determines the pool for the squad.
Which crossplay setting should you choose?
| Setting | Who can join | Input devices |
|---|---|---|
| PC & Consoles | PC players and consoles that opt into this pool, including Xbox. | Controller or mouse and keyboard, according to Ubisoft’s July 2026 guide. |
| Console Crossplay | Console players; it does not include PC matchmaking. | Controller, according to Ubisoft’s current guide. |
| Xbox Only | Xbox players only. | Controller, according to Ubisoft’s current guide. |
Ubisoft’s current console guide gives the pool names and input-device rules. Its 2022 Y7S4 announcement described an earlier setup in which PC and streaming-platform players were separate from consoles; that was superseded by the later console-to-PC matchmaking rules.
What happens when a PC player joins your squad?
The squad leader’s Crossplay & Input Devices selection governs matchmaking and the inputs allowed for the group. If a PC player is in the squad, the setting locks to PC & Consoles. A console player therefore does not need a PC-only account or a different game edition to enter that pool; the squad composition determines the available matchmaking path. Ubisoft explains these rules in its Operation Collision Point announcement and July 2026 console guide.
Ranked and progression across Xbox and PC
Rank is separate by platform pool
When an Xbox player plays Ranked in the PC matchmaking pool, they progress a separate PC rank; their console rank does not merge with it. Ubisoft’s Operation Collision Point announcement says console players can opt into PC matchmaking, while PC players cannot join console matchmaking pools. Any squad containing a PC player enters the PC pool.

Link platforms to share eligible progress
For shared eligible progression and inventory, link Xbox and PC to the same Ubisoft account. Ubisoft’s Cross-platform synchronization article, dated November 22, 2022, says progression data is saved to the Ubisoft account. It lists eligible shared categories including currencies, packs, operators, cosmetics, boosters, clearance level and Battle Pass progress. Rank and skill remain separate between PC and console, and some items such as achievements and equipped loadouts are platform-specific. These category details reflect the rules in that dated article.
If your PC friend cannot join
First confirm that the Xbox player is set to PC & Consoles and that the squad has not selected a console-only pool. Then check the squad panel or pre-match notice and make sure the group is following the squad leader’s pool setting. Ubisoft’s currently published guidance does not give a specific error-by-error invitation checklist; for an account-specific failure after checking the pool, use Ubisoft Help’s crossplay and cross-progression page.
