To defeat the Demon Goose in Where Winds Meet, find the named Diseased Goose on the river path between Blissful Retreat and Heaven’s Pier in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe. Track “To Heal or Not to Heal,” use Wind Sense to start treatment, then deliberately fail or leave the procedure to trigger the hostile encounter. For the quickest route, equip Tai Chi first and throw the goose into nearby deep water.
Where to find the Demon Goose
Look along the river path in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe, between Blissful Retreat and Heaven’s Pier, near a bridge. Track the Exploration activity “To Heal or Not to Heal” and approach the named Diseased Goose. A roaming goose elsewhere is not necessarily the quest target. Use Wind Sense to open the treatment activity.
How to trigger the fight
- Track “To Heal or Not to Heal” and use Wind Sense on the Diseased Goose.
- Choose to fail the treatment or leave the procedure. The goose becomes hostile, triggering the Demon Goose branch.
- If you want the ordinary egg outcome instead, complete the treatment successfully; do not intentionally fail it.
How to defeat it with Tai Chi and water
- Before triggering the hostile branch, equip the Tai Chi Mystic Skill. Tai Chi is one of the game’s Mystic Martial Arts, and encounter guides recommend it for this tactic: Where Winds Meet official website.
- Stand beside the nearby river or another area of deep water. Let the goose approach rather than chasing it.
- Aim Tai Chi toward the water, grab the goose, and throw it in. The water throw is a practical shortcut, not a separate achievement requirement.
You can also defeat the goose through ordinary combat. The available encounter guidance does not document its attack patterns or parry windows, so there is no substantiated move-by-move strategy to add.
What happens if you heal it instead?
Successfully completing treatment follows the ordinary Goose Egg route. The focused route guide reports a Sturdy or Sickly Goose Egg as possible outcomes. Failing or leaving treatment triggers the hostile branch and may lead to a Deranged Goose Egg. These egg followers are described as temporary, not as the same thing as the game’s later persistent Companion system.

Achievement and reward names can differ
Guides do not agree on the achievement or reward terminology. A focused route guide checked July 16, 2026, calls the defeat achievement “Goose Slayer” and reports a Deranged Goose Egg. A separate guide updated July 6, 2026, uses “Goose-Buster” and describes an achievement-linked White-browed or Giant Goose combat assist. Do not assume those labels or rewards are interchangeable: check the current in-game achievement and reward panels before relying on a particular name or permanent companion claim. Encounter names and rewards may change in this live-service game.
