To stop new Ice Wyverns from spawning on a Ragnarok ARK: Survival Evolved server, add this line to the server’s Game.ini (or the host’s Game Settings editor):

NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Ragnarok_Wyvern_Override_Ice_C",ToClassName="")The empty ToClassName tells ARK to replace that spawn class with nothing. This prevents matching future spawns; it does not automatically remove Ice Wyverns that are already present in the world.

What the Game.ini line does
ARK’s NPCReplacements setting changes which creature class the server creates when a matching wild spawn is selected. The general form is:
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="<classname>",ToClassName="<classname>")The ARK Official Community Wiki explains that this syntax can disable a specific NPC spawn completely. In the Ragnarok example, FromClassName identifies the Ice Wyvern class and ToClassName="" supplies no replacement class. The result is a rule that blocks that class rather than converting it into another creature.

This is a spawn-prevention rule. It is not a command that searches the map and deletes creatures that have already spawned, and it does not affect tamed Ice Wyverns in player ownership.
Check the map and class name before editing
The code above is specifically for the Ragnarok Ice Wyvern implementation. Creature class identifiers can differ between maps, server versions, and implementations. ARK documentation also lists Wyvern_Character_BP_Ice_C as an Ice Wyvern class used in another context. Do not paste the Ragnarok identifier into every map and assume it will match.

For a Ragnarok server, use:

If the target map uses Wyvern_Character_BP_Ice_C, that class needs its own replacement entry:
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Wyvern_Character_BP_Ice_C",ToClassName="")Only add a line for a class that actually exists in the map or mod configuration you are operating. A server running several relevant classes may require a separate replacement line for each class. The class name is the part that determines what is matched; changing it casually can leave the intended spawn untouched or affect a different implementation.

Put the setting in Game.ini
The setting belongs in the server’s Game.ini, not in a client-only configuration file. Managed hosts may present the same file through a Config tab, an “Edit Game.ini” page, or a Game Settings editor. The label varies by provider, but the destination is the game configuration represented by Game.ini.
Before you make the change
- Make sure you have administrator access to the server panel or the machine’s configuration files.
- Stop the server if the host recommends stopping it before editing; otherwise use the host’s documented safe-edit workflow.
- Copy or export the existing
Game.iniso you can restore it if another setting is accidentally changed. - Confirm that the server is running the map and game edition for which you selected the class identifier.
- Keep the punctuation, capitalization, quotation marks, parentheses, and empty value exactly as shown.
Step-by-step: disable Ragnarok Ice Wyvern spawns
- Open the server configuration. In a file-based installation, open the server’s
Game.ini. On a managed host, open the Game.ini editor or the Game Settings field that writes to that file. - Find the existing configuration entries. Keep any settings already in the file. Do not replace the whole file with a single line unless you have a complete backup and intend to rebuild every other setting.
- Add the replacement rule. Insert this line on its own line:
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Ragnarok_Wyvern_Override_Ice_C",ToClassName="") - Save the configuration. Use the panel’s save or apply control, or save the file directly. If the host displays a generated configuration preview, verify that the line appears there before leaving the page.
- Restart or reload using the host’s normal process. There is no single reload procedure that applies to every hosting panel. Follow that provider’s documented restart/reload action so the server reads the updated
Game.ini. - Test a fresh spawn cycle. After the server is back online, inspect the Ragnarok areas where Ice Wyverns would normally appear. The rule governs future wild spawning; creatures that were already loaded or saved in the world may still be visible.
Why an existing Ice Wyvern may still be there
NPCReplacements controls creation of matching wild spawns. It does not establish that an already spawned creature is removed when the server restarts or when the rule is added. A wyvern saved in the world can therefore remain after the configuration is working correctly.
If you need a clean wild-creature population after changing spawn rules, the documented administrative cleanup command is:
cheat destroywilddinosThis is a broad reset, not an Ice Wyvern-only deletion. It removes all wild creatures, so dinosaurs, ocean creatures, insects, and other untamed spawns will also be removed and will need to repopulate. Treat it as optional and disruptive: warn players, schedule it for maintenance, and use it only when resetting every wild population is acceptable. The command also requires the server’s normal administrator or cheat permissions.

Choosing whether to run the reset

The available evidence does not establish a built-in, targeted console command for deleting only Ice Wyverns. If a targeted removal is essential, use a tool or administrative method appropriate to your server and verify its compatibility separately rather than treating the global reset as targeted.

The second row is not a claim that every non-Ragnarok map uses that class. It is a reminder to identify the class used by your actual target server. Modded maps and server changes can introduce additional implementations. If you operate several maps from one configuration template, keep each map’s replacement entries separate and confirm that an entry does not unintentionally match a class on a map where Ice Wyverns should remain enabled.

The practical choice is between a precise, forward-looking replacement rule and a broad population reset. They solve different problems.

Troubleshooting when Ice Wyverns still appear
The line is in the wrong file
Check that the entry was added to Game.ini or to the host control panel field that writes to it. Placing it in a client configuration file or an unrelated server settings page will not apply the replacement rule.

The server was not restarted or reloaded
Many hosts do not apply file edits to a running process immediately. Use the provider’s normal save-and-restart or reload workflow, then confirm that the server started without a configuration error.
You are seeing an old wild creature
An Ice Wyvern that existed before the rule was added can remain. To remove all wild creatures, use the broad reset only if its consequences are acceptable. Otherwise, leave the existing population alone and verify future spawn behavior over time.
The class identifier does not match
Recheck the map and implementation. Ragnarok uses Ragnarok_Wyvern_Override_Ice_C in the documented procedure, while another documented implementation is Wyvern_Character_BP_Ice_C. If your server uses a different class, a line for either of those identifiers will not reliably disable it.
The entry was altered during editing
Compare the saved line character by character with the working form. The empty destination must remain ToClassName=""; adding a creature class there would replace Ice Wyverns with that creature instead of disabling the spawn. Keep the entire expression on one configuration line unless your host explicitly formats it differently.

A second configuration source is overwriting the file
Some managed panels regenerate configuration files from their Game Settings form. After saving, reopen the editor or inspect the generated file and make sure the replacement entry is still present. If it disappears, add it through the panel’s supported Game.ini field rather than editing a temporary preview.
Running several maps or using a shared configuration
A shared template can be convenient, but class names are not universal. A line intended for Ragnarok should not be treated as proof that an identically named class is used elsewhere. For a multi-map setup:
- Record which map each server instance runs.
- Identify the Ice Wyvern class used by that instance.
- Add only the matching replacement line to that instance’s
Game.ini. - Restart or reload each instance through its own supported workflow.
- Test the relevant spawn region on each map independently.
If one server rotates maps, review the configuration whenever the map changes. A rule can be technically valid and still fail to block Ice Wyverns if the active map uses a different class identifier.
How to re-enable Ice Wyverns
To undo the prevention rule, remove the corresponding NPCReplacements line from Game.ini, save the file, and restart or reload the server using the host’s normal process. Removing the line allows the normal spawn configuration to operate again; it does not restore wild creatures removed by cheat destroywilddinos.
Operational checklist
- Target map confirmed as Ragnarok, or the correct alternative class identified.
- Backup of the current
Game.inimade before editing. - Correct line added with an empty
ToClassName. - Configuration saved through the server’s supported workflow.
- Server restarted or reloaded as required by the host.
- Existing wild Ice Wyverns distinguished from newly spawned ones.
- Global cleanup command used only after players accept the loss of every wild creature.
- Multi-map instances tested separately instead of assuming one class name works everywhere.
For a Ragnarok server, the precise solution is the single NPCReplacements entry shown at the start of this guide. The key limitation is scope: it stops matching future spawns, while removing creatures already in the world requires a separate decision and, if you choose the documented command, a reset of every wild creature.
