Underwater diving in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an optional late-game ability for Esquie. To unlock it, reach Act III, raise Esquie’s relationship to level 6 through camp hangouts, complete the final hangout sequence and return to camp. Then interact with a glowing blue marker or bubble-like patch on the World Map and follow the on-screen prompt.
How to unlock underwater diving
- Reach Act III. The diving relationship milestone becomes available in Act III, after you regain control of the World Map.
- Complete Esquie’s camp hangouts until his relationship reaches level 6. Keep speaking with him at camp. If you missed earlier hangouts, PC Gamer’s walkthrough says you can complete them consecutively by continuing to talk to him.
- Finish the final hangout sequence. Follow Esquie to Esquie’s Nest and complete the encounter with Francois.
- Return to camp. The guides report that Esquie reaches relationship level 6 and gains the diving ability after the encounter and return.

How to find and use dive spots
Once the ability is unlocked, look across the World Map for glowing blue lights or bubble-like patches in the water. These mark places where Esquie can dive. Interact at the water above a marker and use the on-screen prompt. The guides cited here do not establish one universal keyboard or controller button, so use the prompt shown for your setup.

PC Gamer reports that most dive spots contain five Colour of Lumina. A dive spot in the final area also opens access to a special endgame area. That guide does not provide a confirmed full location list or establish that every spot has the same reward, so treat each marker as a distinct exploration opportunity rather than expecting an identical pickup every time.
