You can’t dodge every Jevil attack with one movement trick: each pattern calls for a different response. Stay near the center when projectiles aim at your SOUL, make brief deliberate dodges, and learn the cues below. This is a pattern guide, not a guarantee of a no-hit run.
How Jevil’s attack patterns work
The fight has five phases. The first time Jevil cycles through a phase, its unique attacks follow an order; if the fight does not advance, attacks can repeat randomly. Many projectiles aim at the SOUL’s position when they are fired. Moving sharply and then pausing can make later volleys easier to predict, while continuous movement may carry you into the next aimed shot. The Deltarune Wiki is community-maintained, not an official developer guide, so treat its paths as suggestions rather than guaranteed safe routes. Deltarune Wiki: Jevil

Phase 1: Learn the basic patterns
Five-spade volley
Start near the center of the board. The middle spade aims at your SOUL when fired. After two volleys—or when an incoming spade is close—make a small move up or down rather than wandering continuously.

Spade spiral
Ten large spades spiral inward. For a lower-reflex approach, find a gap between two spades and hold the safe line; you will need to learn which gap remains open. For a more active approach, loop around the spades as they close in. A small circle near the center can also let you graze them for TP, but demands precise movement. Later versions can reverse direction, so watch the pattern instead of assuming it will continue the same way.

Heart bombs
Heart projectiles target your current position. Bait them away from a lane, then weave through the spreading bullets. Starting near the center leaves room to dodge vertically; if the spread becomes too dense, shift sideways.
Spinning scythes
Move in a loose circle with the scythes’ rotation, making small corrections as needed. Alternatively, travel with the rotation through the gaps as the scythes fan outward.
Phase 2: Track the rows and rising projectiles
Carousel
The horse bodies are the hitboxes; their heads are not. Make small positional changes as the rows bob, favoring vertical movement and adjusting horizontally when the path tilts. On its first appearance only, holding the bottom-left corner can reduce this version to one hit, according to the community guide.

Stay near the center. The middle club aims at your SOUL, while the other two fan above and below it. Use small vertical movements to avoid the set, and reverse before you reach the top or bottom edge.
Diamond release
Diamonds rise from below the board. Stay toward the top, shift left or right to avoid each one, and return toward horizontal center when there is room.
Second spade spiral
Use the same gap-holding or looping approach as before, but expect this version to last longer, move faster, and possibly change direction.
Phase 3: Dodge aimed volleys and outward bursts
Second carousel
Horses and ducks move in opposite vertical rhythms, and the first carousel’s low-hit corner does not apply. Move between the seats; use horizontal movement to create room for the sharper arcs.
Spade bombs
These spades radiate outward instead of aiming at your SOUL. Begin near the center, wait until a bullet’s path comes close, make a small movement perpendicular to that path, then recenter.

Three-club volleys
Each burst targets your SOUL’s position when it fires. Make a sharp move to avoid a volley, pause briefly so subsequent shots settle toward the old position, then move diagonally parallel to the shots to limit how far you travel.
Second spinning-scythe pattern
Loop near either side of the board to pass the small scythes. When the large red scythe crosses horizontally, return toward a center lane and make a small vertical dodge. The pattern alternates between top and bottom; the guide notes that the red scythe can hit the SOUL on its first three passes.

Diamond tossing
Jevil fires aimed diamonds from the sides. Make repeated up-and-down movements, reversing before you reach the rim. A quick sideways slingshot can create room to reverse.
Chaos Bomb
This combines earlier suit bombs with a new diamond bomb. Match your response to the pattern: use the heart, spade, or club advice above for those projectiles, and repeated vertical changes for aimed diamonds. Diamonds and hearts can linger, so check that the lane is clear before doubling back.
Second diamond release
Use the Phase 2 approach: stay toward the top and dodge each rising diamond laterally. These slower bullets can also offer chances to graze for TP.
Final Chaos
The board expands and giant Devilsknives fall, leaving light pillars that can also damage the party. Favor one column. Move left or right when a knife threatens it, then wait for the pillar to clear before returning.
Phase 5: Recognize returning attacks
After Final Chaos, Jevil reuses earlier attacks. Chaos Bomb is more likely than the other repeats, but it is still an old pattern rather than a new attack set. Identify what is on screen and return to its matching movement cue.

Grazing builds TP, and DEFEND also builds TP while reducing incoming damage. The spiral attacks, diamond attacks, and Phase 3 club volley are identified as useful grazing opportunities. If you choose to graze, weigh the potential TP against the greater precision and risk; holding a memorized spiral gap asks less of your reflexes.
On the pacifist route, Jevil must be tired enough for Ralsei to use Pacify. The guide gives tiredness 9 as the requirement and says Hypnosis tires Jevil twice as quickly as Pirouette, but costs 50% TP and reduces his attack. DEFEND and healing choices affect how safely you can reach later turns. For a damage-focused approach, prioritize surviving and managing healing; either route still depends on recognizing the active attack.
