This means there are two separate compatibility limits to consider: the date of your Rocket League game version and whether Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) is enabled. BakkesMod’s legacy files are for older game versions; they do not make the mod compatible with current releases.
Does BakkesMod work for online play?
No. Rocket League’s publisher says EAC is required for online play on PC, and community mods do not run while EAC is enabled. The publisher identifies training, offline matches, LAN matches, and replay viewing as mod-compatible contexts when EAC is off. See Rocket League’s EAC announcement.

Because the current PC client requires EAC for online play, there is no supported combination that lets you use BakkesMod in current online matches. Turning EAC off is not an alternative for online play; it limits you to the publisher’s listed offline or LAN contexts, and it does not overcome BakkesMod’s incompatibility with Rocket League versions released from April 28, 2026 onward.
Where to get BakkesMod legacy files
For an older Rocket League installation, use the official project links in the maintainer’s announcement to locate legacy BakkesMod files. Match the mod to an earlier game version; the project announcement does not promise compatibility with current Rocket League.

The official sources cited here do not establish a currently supported installer or provide verified, step-by-step installation instructions. Do not assume that a download described as “latest” is compatible, and avoid mirror downloads presented as official files.

- Check the Rocket League version date. BakkesMod does not work with versions released on or after April 28, 2026.

- Distinguish official files from community tools. An unofficial legacy-build downloader is not a BakkesMod installer or an official download recommendation.
What happened to the project?
BakkesMod had a substantial community, but the scale figures are the maintainer’s own reports, not independently audited statistics. In the April 28, 2026 announcement, Bakkes reported more than 800 community-submitted plugins published in recent years, over 750,000 daily users, and over 1.5 million weekly users. Those figures describe the project’s reported reach; they do not change its compatibility with newer Rocket League versions.
