Download Battlefield REDSEC from your platform’s official digital store: PlayStation Store on PS5, Microsoft Store on Xbox Series X|S, or the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Store on PC. Search for Battlefield REDSEC and choose the free download or play option. You do not need to own Battlefield 6, but you do need an EA account and an internet connection.

What you need before downloading or playing

  • An EA account: EA requires an account to play REDSEC.
  • An internet connection: EA specifies stable internet access; REDSEC is an online experience.
  • Regional store eligibility: Store, age, and subscription restrictions can vary by location. EA specifically says that in Germany, PlayStation Plus is required to download REDSEC components under the regional age and content restrictions it describes. Check the relevant store for the rules that apply to your account and region. EA Help: Battlefield REDSEC free-to-play FAQ

Do you need to buy Battlefield 6?

No. EA describes REDSEC as a standalone free-to-play experience, so owning Battlefield 6 is not required. If you own Battlefield 6, EA says you can access both experiences through one launcher. EA’s Battlefield 6 FAQ

Check REDSEC’s PC requirements

Before installing on PC, compare your system with the current REDSEC-specific requirements on EA’s REDSEC PC system requirements page. The page lists Windows hardware, storage, online connectivity, and additional Windows security settings; consult the current page for the full specification in your locale.

Do not use the separate Battlefield 6 storage figures as a substitute: EA lists 60 GB minimum and 90 GB recommended for Battlefield 6, not necessarily REDSEC. EA’s Battlefield 6 FAQ

If the download or game will not work

EA’s troubleshooting guidance suggests these checks. They are possible fixes, not guaranteed solutions. EA Help troubleshooting guidance

  • Restart your PC or console, then try again.
  • On PC, check that your system meets the minimum requirements.
  • Repair or verify the game files using the relevant PC storefront’s tools.
  • Temporarily disable overlays, such as Discord or GeForce Experience, if the game fails to launch.
  • For connection or matchmaking problems, restart your router or try a wired connection; check EA server status and your NAT settings as well.
