Edge of Eternities supports ten two-color Limited plans, each marked by a multicolor signpost uncommon. Use those signposts to recognize what a draft or Sealed pool can support—not as a ranking of the color pairs. For prerelease, expect Sealed: build a 40-card deck from your Prerelease Pack, then choose the colors with the best mix of playable cards, early plays, interaction, and a coherent theme.

The set released for tabletop and Magic: The Gathering Arena on August 1, 2025; its prerelease events ran July 25–31, 2025. The archetypes below are useful for understanding the set whether you are reviewing a past event or playing Limited with Edge of Eternities cards.

How to build an Edge of Eternities prerelease Sealed deck

Wizards describes prerelease as typically a Sealed event. Open the six Play Boosters in your Prerelease Pack, build a 40-card deck from your pool, and add basic lands as needed. The event guide lists the pack contents as six Edge of Eternities Play Boosters, one traditional foil year-stamped rare or mythic rare, one deck box, and one spindown die.

Use the following curve as a starting point, not a requirement. It is the typical Sealed outline in Wizards of the Coast’s 2025 prerelease guide; card quality, removal, draw, and your pool’s actual costs should determine the final build.

Edge of Eternities has a curve wrinkle: Warp can give a card a cheaper way to affect the game early, but that does not make its printed cost irrelevant. Wizards’ guide uses Knight Luminary as an example: its four-mana creature can be cast for two mana with Warp, then is exiled at the end step so it can be cast later. Count it as an early play only if the rest of your turn makes that line sensible; if you are likely to have another useful two-mana play, the card may fit better at its later cost.

For a useful outside point of comparison, LimitedMTG’s set-data analysis (publication date not stated; accessed in 2026) reports that Edge of Eternities’ common-card curve peaks at three mana, while the mean across 11 other sets peaks at two. That is a card-data comparison, not a tournament result or a reason to ignore the Sealed curve above.

How to choose a color pair from your pool or draft

Each of the ten color pairs has a supported plan and a multicolor uncommon signpost. Treat the signpost as a clue about what to value, then check whether your actual cards make the plan work. A promising theme without enough enablers, or a pile of payoffs without ways to trigger them, is not a complete deck.

  • Enablers: How many cards start or support the theme?
  • Payoffs: How many cards reward you for carrying it out?
  • Early plays: Can you affect the board before expensive cards take over?
  • Interaction: Can you answer opposing threats or disrupt their plan?
  • Mana: Do the colors and any splash have reliable fixing?
  • Overlap: Do cards support more than one of the themes your pool contains?

These checks help compare two plausible builds without assuming a universally strongest archetype. Wizards’ archetype guide describes intended strategies; it does not report comparative win rates.

All 10 Edge of Eternities Limited archetypes

White-blue: Second Spell

White-blue wants to cast two spells in a turn and benefit from doing so. Favor cards that reward consistent double-spelling, including the guide’s examples Sunstar Lightsmith and Uthros Psionicist. Cheap spells and a curve that leaves mana available for a second play help the plan function.

Blue-black: Artifact Control

Blue-black uses artifacts as control resources. The guide points to Dubious Delicacy and Embrace Oblivion as ways to turn artifacts into removal and clear opposing threats. Evaluate artifact support not only for its board presence but also for how it contributes to controlling the game.

Black-red: Void

Black-red combines Warp casts and sacrificed permanents with Void payoffs. Lander tokens can be sacrificed to trigger Void abilities, making them useful both for mana fixing and for the sacrifice plan. Keep enablers and payoffs in balance: a deck needs enough ways to make its Void cards matter.

Red-green: Landers and Landfall

Red-green makes and sacrifices Landers, plays lands, and triggers Landfall while continuing to develop mana and threats. Landers appear in every color but primarily in red and green, according to Wizards’ guide. Their fixing can help support another color only when the deck has enough reliable access to the splash and a payoff worth adding it for.

Green-white: +1/+1 Counters

Green-white grows a board with +1/+1 counters and supports those creatures with counter-focused cards. The guide highlights Haliya, Ascendant Cadet, as well as recovery options such as Scout for Survivors or Rescue Skiff. Consider whether the pool can build and maintain a board for those cards to reward.

White-black: Go Wide

White-black builds a board of tokens, then converts that wide board into pressure. The guide names Syr Vondam, the Lucent as a payoff. Token production is the foundation; without enough bodies, go-wide payoffs may be less effective.

Blue-red: Artifact Aggro

Blue-red uses artifact-entry and tapped-creature synergies to apply pressure. Robots and Jellyfish are among the creature types mentioned in the guide, and Mechan Navigator can contribute while attacking or stationing a Spacecraft. This plan can overlap with red-white through tapping, but its emphasis is artifact aggression.

Black-green: Graveyard

Black-green mills cards and reanimates permanents. The guide notes that expensive Spacecraft can become more accessible with cards such as Scrounge for Eternity. Look for both ways to stock the graveyard and worthwhile permanents to bring back.

Red-white: Space Stations

Red-white uses creatures to attack or tap to station Spacecraft, while taking advantage of cards that care about tapped creatures. Wedgelight Rammer supplies a creature token that can station. Because stationing uses a creature that might otherwise attack or serve another purpose, weigh the activation against the value of leaving that creature available.

Green-blue: Ramp

Green-blue ramps and uses Lander fixing to support a possible four- or five-color build. The guide points to differently named land payoffs including Fungal Colossus, All-Fates Scroll, and Survey Mechan. A larger color spread is a possibility, not a default: do not splash unless your fixing can actually cast the cards.

How Station, Landers, Warp, and Void work

Station

Station is an activated ability that taps another untapped creature you control to put charge counters on the station permanent equal to that creature’s power. It can be activated only as a sorcery. A station card’s listed thresholds grant abilities, and some thresholds make it an artifact creature. Wizards’ Edge of Eternities Release Notes, compiled by Eric Levine and last modified July 18, 2025, give the reminder: “Station only as a sorcery.”

Lander

A Lander is an artifact token with an ability that costs two generic mana and a sacrifice: search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle. That makes Landers a bridge between mana development and sacrifice synergies.

Warp

Warp lets you cast a permanent from exile on a future turn. If you cast it from your hand for its Warp cost, it is exiled from the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step; you can cast it later from exile. The initial cast can provide an earlier play, while the card’s later return affects how you plan your mana.

Void

Void abilities vary by card. The set announcement says they care about permanents leaving the battlefield or being warped during your turn, so check the specific card text rather than assuming every Void ability has the same condition.

The release notes are dated July 18, 2025, and warn that later rules updates may make them outdated. For a disputed interaction, consult Wizards’ current rules.

When two archetypes overlap

Some cards can serve more than one plan, which can make a pool with imperfectly separated themes stronger than a narrow build. Red-green Landers may support a splash if the fixing and payoff justify it. Blue-red artifacts and red-white Space Stations both use tapping, but blue-red leans toward artifact aggression while red-white focuses on station activations and tapped-creature payoffs. Compare the actual cards in your pool: overlap is valuable when it increases the number of cards that function, not merely because two labels sound compatible.
