Sanctuary level sets the hero level ceiling. Raids can help with a shortfall, but scout first and account for stamina and troop carrying capacity.
Know which resource pays for what
The game’s economy has separate streams. Food (called grain in a community reference), timber (called wood there), and herbs support development. Antitoxin is used to level heroes; gear workshops produce separate gear materials. The official Last Asylum: Plague site describes gathering supplies, upgrading a refuge, and leading heroes into ruined territory. The App Store listing names timber, herbs, and food, while the community-maintained resource reference uses grain, wood, herbs, and Antitoxin. Check the labels and costs shown in your current game.
Keep production running—and collect on time
Farm, Lumberyard, and Herb Garden production does not accumulate indefinitely while you are away. A community-maintained reference reports a maximum collection window of 3.5 hours at level 1 and 12 hours at level 30 for these ordinary resource buildings; after the applicable limit, output stops until you collect. Those windows are reference figures, not publisher guarantees, and may change. See the Last Asylum Wiki resource page.
- Collect before your buildings reach their bank limit, especially when you will be away for a long stretch.
- Upgrade the production building that supplies the resource you actually need next, and keep storage reasonably current so capacity does not become the bottleneck.
- If frequent collection is impractical, weigh storage and longer production windows when choosing which buildings to improve.
A fan guide recommends balancing Sanctuary progression with production and capacity rather than rushing Sanctuary tiers while the economy lags. Treat this as a practical approach, not a guaranteed optimal build order; consult the community building guide and your live building panels.

What the published production figures show
The Last Asylum Wiki, a community-maintained reference rather than a publisher source, lists the following level-30 rates and building caps. Its figures were verified on 31 August 2026 and the page was last edited on 5 September 2026. They are reference values, not firsthand measurements or guaranteed current rates; check the live building panel before planning around them.
| Building | Level-30 output listed | Maximum copies listed |
|---|---|---|
| Farm | 34,158 per hour | 4 |
| Lumberyard | 34,158 per hour | 4 |
| Herb Garden | 21,912 per hour | 4 |
| Antitoxin Workshop | 259,666 per hour | 5 |
These figures are useful for comparing building types, but they do not establish what your account will produce at a different level or after a balance update.

Earn Antitoxin for hero levels
Antitoxin Workshop output provides a steady baseline. The community reference also lists building-upgrade rewards, Falcon Quests, Covert Ops, caravans, Blight hunting, and events such as Cheese Trap. Availability and payouts can depend on progression and event state, so claim the activities currently offered to your account rather than assuming one route is always best.
The same reference calculates that five level-30 workshops would produce 1,298,330 Antitoxin per hour, or 31,159,920 per day. These are community calculations based on its listed rates, not independently tested or publisher-confirmed figures; workshop levels, building caps, and balance changes can alter them.

Raise the Sanctuary when the hero cap blocks you
Your Sanctuary level determines the maximum hero level. When a hero cannot level further, check whether the Sanctuary is the limiting factor before spending time chasing more Antitoxin. Once the cap allows it, spend Antitoxin on the hero or heroes that support your immediate progression goal. The available references establish the cap relationship, not a universally best hero investment order.
The community resource reference says Antitoxin is not stored in a storehouse and accumulated stock is exposed to raids. It distinguishes Antitoxin credited directly to your account from inventory items and Level Supplies that can be opened later. Some supplies may have different value or limits depending on Sanctuary level; inspect the current item description and caps before deciding to hold them.

Use plundering as a cautious supplement
When ordinary resources are still short, community guidance recommends scouting before attacking. Compare the visible resources with the stamina and troop costs, and remember that troop Load affects how much you can carry; higher-tier troops or some technologies may increase Load. A scout report is not a guaranteed haul, and raid rules or server conditions may change. See the community plundering guide.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical progression loop
- Identify the bottleneck. Check the cost of the next useful building, research, or hero level and note which resource is short.
- Support that resource. Upgrade its production building and relevant storage without letting Sanctuary progression outrun the economy.
- Collect before production caps. Use the bank window that applies to your building level; output stops after the ordinary facilities’ reported collection limit.
- Build Antitoxin steadily. Maintain workshop output and claim available quests, operations, caravans, hunts, and event rewards.
- Unlock and use hero levels. Increase Sanctuary level when its cap is the blocker, then spend Antitoxin toward your current goal.
- Scout before supplementing with raids. Check likely resources and carrying capacity against stamina and troop expense.
If you are timing claims around an event such as Alliance Duel, verify the current in-game objective and claim rules first. A player discussion about delaying resource collection until a build day does not establish that withholding a completed upgrade or its rewards is possible, safe, or optimal.
