Make the Galarian Farfetch’d you want to evolve your Buddy Pokémon, then land 10 Excellent Throws. Pokémon GO Hub currently lists the task as 10 throws and the evolution cost as 50 Farfetch’d Candy; The Pokémon Company’s official guide confirms the buddy-and-throw requirement but does not give a number. Check the selected Pokémon’s live evolution details before you start.
What you need to evolve Galarian Farfetch’d
- Buddy: Set the specific Galarian Farfetch’d you want to evolve as your active Buddy Pokémon while completing the throw task. The Pokémon Company International describes the evolution condition as making Galarian Farfetch’d your buddy and making “a certain number” of Excellent Throws: Buddy Adventure guide.
- Excellent Throws: Pokémon GO Hub’s current listing specifies 10. The official guide does not publish the exact count, so confirm the task on your Pokémon’s details screen: Pokémon GO Hub’s Sirfetch’d evolution listing.
- Candy: Pokémon GO Hub lists a cost of 50 Farfetch’d Candy. Niantic says the Candy requirement is shown in the Pokémon’s summary; verify it in-game before evolving: Niantic Help Center: evolving Pokémon.
How to get an Excellent Throw
Niantic defines Nice, Great, and Excellent throws by accuracy within the target ring. The smallest ring offers the greatest catch chance, but the ball still has to land inside it to earn the accuracy bonus: Niantic Help Center: catching Pokémon.

- Start an encounter and watch the colored target ring contract around the Pokémon.
- Wait until the ring is small enough for an Excellent result, then release the ball so it lands within the ring. The right timing and throw motion vary with the encounter and device; there is no universal distance, angle, or curve established for every Pokémon.
- If the Pokémon’s movement is disrupting your timing, try a Nanab Berry. Niantic says Nanab Berries slow movement, but they do not guarantee a stationary target or an Excellent Throw.
- Repeat until the evolution task shows completion.
Check task progress and evolve
- Open the selected Galarian Farfetch’d’s details page and inspect its evolution task. Niantic says task details appear there when an evolution requires a task.
- Keep that Farfetch’d as your Buddy while you make the Excellent Throws, and use its task tracker to confirm progress.
- Once the task is complete and you have the Candy shown on its summary, select the evolution option on that Pokémon’s page.
The cited official guidance says to make Excellent Throws but does not clearly establish whether each throw must also catch the Pokémon. Follow the live progress tracker for the selected Farfetch’d rather than assuming a throw counts only—or always—when it results in a catch.
