What you need to evolve Kubfu
- 200 Kubfu Candy for either evolution route.
- Kubfu set as your buddy while you complete the qualifying battles.
- Thirty defeated Pokémon of the type matching your chosen style, in raids or Max Battles.
These requirements come from Pokémon GO’s official Final Strike: GO Battle Week announcement. Check Kubfu’s in-game summary for its current eligibility and candy total, because game mechanics may change.

How to complete the evolution
- Set Kubfu as your buddy.
- For Single Strike Style, defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For Rapid Strike Style, defeat 30 Water-type Pokémon in those battle modes.
- Once you have the required battle progress and 200 Kubfu Candy, open Kubfu’s summary and tap Evolve.
Kubfu only needs to be your buddy during the qualifying battles; it does not have to defeat the Pokémon. The Pokémon GO Help Center’s evolution guide describes the summary-screen flow and notes that the candy requirement is shown there.
Which Urshifu style should you choose?

The type combinations are identified in the official Pokémon Sword and Shield Urshifu reference. Pokémon GO’s own announcement specifies the separate evolution requirements.

Choose by typing and by which battle route is practical for you. The reviewed official sources do not establish that either style is universally stronger in Pokémon GO’s current competitive formats, so a blanket ranking would not be justified.
