In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, use a Linking Cord on Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler or Haunter to evolve it without trading. That item method is specific to the game; there is no universal workaround that applies across every Pokémon title.
How the Linking Cord works in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
In Legends: Arceus, a Linking Cord can replace the usual trade requirement for four familiar Pokémon. Select the item in your inventory and use it on one of the eligible Pokémon:

The listed Linking Cord method is documented by Serebii’s Legends: Arceus evolution reference and Nintendo Life’s guide to trade evolutions in the game. These references establish the eligible species and method, but not every way to obtain the item. Check your game’s available items rather than assuming a particular shop, quest or drop will provide one.
What if you’re playing Scarlet or Violet?
Nintendo’s Link Trade instructions for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet explain how to trade with another player. The available sources do not establish a complete list of no-trade alternatives for trade evolutions in those games, so don’t assume the Legends: Arceus Linking Cord method works there. For an exact answer, first identify the game and Pokémon you have.

Can Pokémon HOME trigger a trade evolution?
No such evolution trigger is described in the official HOME information cited here. Pokémon’s 2023 announcement about HOME connectivity with Scarlet and Violet describes moving Pokémon among compatible games. Nintendo’s Pokémon HOME FAQ describes trading features in the mobile app. Those functions should not be treated as a way to evolve a Pokémon unless a source for the specific game says so.

If your game does not provide a documented item or other no-trade method for the Pokémon you want to evolve, trading with another player may be necessary. Nintendo’s Legends: Arceus trading instructions describe player-to-player trading and note that trading unlocks at First Star Member. Trading instructions are not evidence that every game or species has the same item workaround.
