How to Extract Safely After Looting Pendola Pass in Arc Raiders

Call the Ballistic Gondola at a Pendola Pass transceiver, follow its landing cues, and coordinate pod entry to reduce extraction risk.

On Pendola Pass, call the Ballistic Gondola from a Gondola Transceiver, then follow its incoming marker and the green smoke to the landing site. Check the approach before breaching a pod, and do not start boarding until your squad is ready: reported early-access-based guidance says the entry countdown starts when the first Raider begins getting in. These steps can reduce exposure, but they cannot guarantee a clear route or a successful extraction.

How Pendola Pass extraction works

The extraction method described for Pendola Pass is the Ballistic Gondola. You call it from a tower console at a Gondola Transceiver; it then lands away from the tower, so the call point is not where you board. Arc Raiders Hub’s extraction guide, updated October 8, 2026 and based on early-access footage, reports no Raider Hatches or walk-up elevators on this map. Treat its timings and mechanical details as reported guidance, not a promise that the game will behave identically after future updates.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

That distinction shapes the whole exit plan: you are not simply activating a device and leaving from where you stand. The call is one stage; moving to the gondola’s separate landing location and getting into a pod are additional stages, each with its own exposure. Plan around the whole sequence before activating the console, especially if you are carrying valuable loot or a quest item. The method can help you manage risk, but it does not make the route silent, guarantee that the gondola area is clear, or ensure that the squad will extract.

The guide’s reported figures are useful for orientation, not as exact guarantees. It puts the landing about 100–150 metres from the transceiver, says the gondola waits about two minutes, and reports a ten-second countdown after a player starts entering. These timings come from early-access footage cited by Arc Raiders Hub, rather than a guarantee of future behavior. Use the marker and visual cues in your raid, and be prepared to adapt if the timing or mechanics differ.

Call the gondola and locate its landing point

  1. Open the map. Find a Gondola Transceiver at an extraction icon. Before going to the tower, look at the surrounding terrain and consider the route between the transceiver and the likely landing area. Identify cover you can use along the way and think about whether the squad can reach the site together. The map gives you a place to begin planning, not confirmation that either location is free of threats.
  2. Request the Ballistic Gondola. Use the tower console at the transceiver. The call makes noise, so nearby players or ARC may be alerted; do not assume the tower is uncontested just because no threat is visible. Consider the noise before committing, particularly if you have already noticed activity nearby. There is no reason to treat the call as a silent or risk-free interaction.
  3. Track the incoming gondola. Use the transceiver’s directional light and the incoming marker on the map to orient toward the landing location. Arc Raiders Hub reports that the gondola lands about 100–150 metres from the transceiver, with green smoke marking it on the ground. Follow those cues instead of waiting at the tower. The reported distance is approximate, so use the live marker and smoke to guide the final approach rather than counting out a fixed route.
  4. Assess the approach before moving in. Look for nearby cover and threats along the route. The marker and smoke help you find the gondola, but they do not establish that the area around it is safe. Check what you can from your position and avoid sprinting blindly toward the landing point just because the gondola has arrived. A covered approach may reduce how long you are exposed, but it cannot guarantee you will not encounter ARC or another squad.

Keep the tower and gondola site mentally separate. After the call, the tower is not your boarding location, and returning there will not substitute for reaching the gondola. The visual and map cues exist to orient you toward the landing location. If a squadmate is navigating, agree on which cues they are following so the group does not split between the transceiver and smoke marker.

Board without splitting the squad

Arc Raiders Hub describes three pods on the gondola. A pod gives you an enclosed position once its door is shut, but reaching and entering it leaves you exposed. Coordinate at cover before anyone breaches a pod, especially if squad members are still moving toward the landing site. The guide’s description does not establish unlimited pod capacity, so do not assume that every member can wait until the last moment and still board without a problem.

The critical timing detail is when the countdown begins: the guide says it starts as soon as a player begins entering, even if teammates have not arrived. That makes the first player’s action the point at which the group’s margin shrinks. It is not a countdown that begins only once everyone is safely inside. Decide at cover whether the squad is ready before anyone starts the breach-and-entry sequence.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Confirm the group is together. Check that teammates are close enough to board and that nobody is still following a different route from the transceiver. If a Raider is delayed, decide whether to wait, regroup, or proceed; do not let an accidental early entry make that decision for the squad.
  2. Choose a pod and commit deliberately. The approach to the pod and the breach expose you. Check the immediate approach and nearby cover first, then begin only when you are ready to get in. Do not start boarding early just to reserve a place for teammates: the reported countdown begins with the first player’s entry attempt.
  3. Get inside and close the door. The guide describes pods with doors and says closing the door leaves you in an enclosed position. This is different from the exposed approach outside, but the guide does not say that enclosure guarantees safety from every threat or interruption. Keep the distinction clear: a pod changes your exposure; it is not a promise that nothing can happen while the gondola is waiting.
  4. Plan around the reported wait. Arc Raiders Hub reports that the gondola waits about two minutes. Treat that as a planning estimate, not a guaranteed timer or a reason to relax. Stay alert while waiting and do not assume the surrounding area will remain clear. If the squad is not coordinated before entry, the wait figure does not undo the risk of being split by the ten-second countdown.

A useful sequence is to call, track, regroup near the landing site, inspect the approach, and only then begin pod entry. The main benefit of coordinating at cover is control over when the countdown starts. It does not remove the noise from the original call or make the area around the gondola safe; it helps the squad avoid adding a preventable split to those existing risks.

Pod entry or riding on top?

Approach What Arc Raiders Hub reports Practical trade-off
Enter a pod There are three pods, and they have doors. Provides an enclosed position after the door is shut, but the approach and breach are exposed. Coordinate entry to avoid the countdown splitting the squad.
Ride on top A Raider attached to the gondola with a grappling hook can ride on top. An overflow alternative, not the safer choice: riders remain exposed to ARC and other squads.

The guide does not establish unlimited pod capacity or protection for top riders. If the squad cannot fit or arrive in time, decide whether the exposed alternative is worth the risk rather than treating it as equivalent to boarding a pod. The top-riding detail is best understood as a reported possibility, not a recommendation to choose the roof whenever a pod is inconvenient. It leaves the rider exposed to the threats the guide names.

There is no supported second extraction system on Pendola Pass to compare with the gondola. Arc Raiders Hub reports no Raider Hatches or walk-up elevators, so the useful comparison is between the ways of using the gondola: an enclosed pod after its door is shut, or an exposed ride on top with a grappling hook. Do not plan around an alternative exit that the guide does not describe.

Account for Flash Freeze

Pendola Pass is a frozen alpine map, and Flash Freeze can begin during a raid. PC Gamer reports that players start taking damage after a while in the storm. It also reports that Storm Huts appear on the map and open during Flash Freeze, providing shelter and loot. The storm therefore matters to the extraction plan as well as to general movement: an extended wait or detour can carry a cost if the event begins while you are preparing to leave.

If Flash Freeze starts while you are preparing to extract, check whether a Storm Hut is reachable without taking a more dangerous route or giving up your chance to board. A hut may provide shelter, but its presence does not mean the route is safe, and a nearby hut is not guaranteed. The relevant choice is not simply “storm or hut”; it is whether reaching the shelter is a better risk than continuing toward the gondola under the conditions you can see.

Use the storm information as a reason to reassess, not as an automatic instruction to abandon the extraction. If a hut is reachable without a worse route, it may give you shelter; if getting there would add a hazardous detour or cost the opportunity to board, that changes the trade-off. The PC Gamer account does not guarantee that a hut will be nearby, that it will be uncontested, or that it will remain a safe place to wait. Do not count on any of those outcomes.

Flash Freeze can also overlap with the gondola sequence. Since the reported wait is about two minutes, take the possibility of storm damage into account before entering or choosing to wait outside. The timing is approximate, and the storm’s effects are not described as an instant fixed damage event; PC Gamer says damage begins after a while. Avoid turning that into a precise countdown. Check your situation and use available shelter only if doing so does not create a worse route or cost the extraction opportunity.

Secure quest items before taking more risks

For the Clean Hands quest, PC Gamer’s walkthrough identifies the Equatorial Sundial and recommends putting it in the Safe Pocket. The walkthrough says extracting with the item completes the final step; if you have not yet extracted on Pendola Pass, it directs you to activate a gondola console and go to the gondola’s drop location.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you are carrying the Sundial, secure it in the Safe Pocket before continuing to loot or taking an optional detour. That is especially relevant after you have found the item: more exploration can expose you to additional risk without changing the stated final step, which is to extract with it. The walkthrough’s advice is specific to this quest item, so do not assume every quest item or every Safe Pocket setup follows the same rules. Check the current in-game requirements for the item you have.

Keep the two parts of the Clean Hands direction together: the walkthrough recommends the Safe Pocket for the Equatorial Sundial, and it says the item must be extracted to complete the final step. It also describes the gondola route for someone who has not yet extracted on Pendola Pass: activate a gondola console and go to the drop location. The console is the call point, not the final boarding point, so use the incoming marker and green smoke to locate the gondola after making the request.

This does not mean the Safe Pocket removes the need to finish the extraction, or that it makes the rest of the route risk-free. It means the walkthrough specifically advises securing this item before taking further risks. If you have a different quest item, do not transfer the Sundial instructions to it without checking the item’s current requirements.

Check the raid’s conditions before deployment

Pendola Pass conditions can include ARC Frigate, Night Raid, and Redirection, while loot-zone value can change from one raid to another. The official ARC Raiders conditions page is live, time-sensitive, and region-selectable. Check the current conditions for your region before deploying rather than relying on a static schedule or assuming a previous raid’s loot conditions will repeat.

A conditions page is useful for the current deployment, not a fixed schedule to memorize. Since it is region-dependent and time-sensitive, a condition you saw on an earlier raid may not describe the next one. Checking before deployment helps you account for the listed condition and shifting loot-zone value; it does not tell you that the gondola landing site will be clear or that a particular route will be safe.

Common extraction mistakes to avoid

  • Waiting at the tower after the call: the gondola lands away from the transceiver. Use the incoming marker, directional light, and green smoke to find it.
  • Calling as if the request were silent: the call makes noise, and nearby players or ARC may be alerted. Do not mistake the absence of a visible threat for proof that the tower is uncontested.
  • Starting entry before the squad is ready: the reported countdown begins as soon as the first player starts entering, not when everyone reaches the gondola. Agree on readiness before anyone begins.
  • Rushing the pod breach: entering leaves you exposed. Check the approach and nearby cover before committing.
  • Treating the gondola roof as protected: a grappling-hook rider can reportedly attach to the gondola, but remains exposed to ARC and other squads.
  • Assuming the pods have unlimited capacity: the guide describes three pods but does not establish unlimited capacity. Do not rely on an unsupported assumption about how many Raiders can fit.
  • Ignoring a storm while waiting: Flash Freeze can cause damage after a while, so check whether a reachable Storm Hut offers a better risk than remaining exposed. Do not assume a hut will be nearby or safe.
  • Continuing to loot with an unsecured quest item: for the Clean Hands Equatorial Sundial, PC Gamer’s walkthrough specifically recommends the Safe Pocket before you take further risks.
  • Planning around stale conditions: conditions are live, region-selectable, and time-sensitive. Check the official page for the current region rather than copying a static schedule.
  • Expecting an exact timer: Arc Raiders Hub’s reported distance and timings are approximate early-access-based guidance. Use them to plan, but follow the live map and situation rather than treating them as guaranteed behavior.

What safer extraction means

The useful goal is to manage exposure: call with awareness that the noise can draw attention, navigate to the actual landing site, and time the pod entry around your squad and the conditions. None of those choices guarantees that other Raiders or ARC will leave you alone, so adapt to what is happening in the raid rather than treating the reported timings as a safety timer.

Before the call, know that the transceiver and landing point are separate. After the call, use the map marker, transceiver light, and green smoke to navigate. At the site, pause long enough to check the approach and gather the squad before anyone starts entering. If Flash Freeze begins, weigh a reachable Storm Hut against the route and extraction opportunity. If you carry the Clean Hands Equatorial Sundial, follow PC Gamer’s specific Safe Pocket advice rather than taking optional looting risks with it unsecured.

These are decisions that reduce avoidable exposure, not a recipe for a guaranteed extraction. A noisy call may attract attention, the route can still be contested, the gondola’s reported timings may change, and storms can complicate the wait. Use current in-game cues and your squad’s situation to decide when to move and when to board.

When does the boarding countdown start?

Arc Raiders Hub reports that a ten-second countdown begins when a player starts entering, even if teammates have not arrived. Gather and coordinate the squad before anyone begins boarding.

Can you ride on top of the gondola?

The guide reports that a Raider attached to it with a grappling hook can ride on top. It also warns that top riders remain exposed to ARC and other squads, so this is an exposed overflow option rather than the safer alternative to entering a pod.

What should I do if Flash Freeze starts near extraction?

PC Gamer reports that Flash Freeze causes damage after a while and that Storm Huts appear on the map and open during the event, offering shelter and loot. Consider a hut only if reaching it does not create a worse route or cost the extraction opportunity; one is not guaranteed to be nearby or safe.

Should I put the Clean Hands Equatorial Sundial in the Safe Pocket?

Yes. PC Gamer’s Clean Hands walkthrough specifically recommends putting the Equatorial Sundial in the Safe Pocket and says extracting with it completes the final step. Check the current requirements rather than assuming the same handling applies to every quest item.

Are there other extraction options on Pendola Pass?

Arc Raiders Hub’s guide says there are no Raider Hatches or walk-up elevators and describes the Ballistic Gondola as the way out. Do not plan around another extraction system based on this guide.

The Bottom Line

Call the Ballistic Gondola at a Pendola Pass transceiver, follow the marker and green smoke to its separate landing site, and wait until the squad is ready before anyone starts entering a pod. Account for the noise, exposed approach, reported countdown, Flash Freeze, and any secured quest item. These steps can reduce risk, but no route guarantees extraction.
