1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThere is no guaranteed safe extraction in ARC Raiders: main exits attract ARC and other Raiders, while Raider Hatches require a key and still carry risk. To give your haul the best chance of making it out, identify an active exit early, decide what amount of loot is worth risking, and leave when another search is less valuable than what you are already carrying.
What “safe extraction” really means
Extraction is the decision point between bringing your haul back and losing what you carried into the raid. The useful goal is not to find an exit that guarantees survival; the official guidance is explicit that main extraction points draw attention from ARC and other players. Instead, reduce avoidable risk by choosing a plausible way out before you are heavily loaded, keeping track of changing options, and not extending the raid just because you can.

Embark’s July 29, 2025 explanation of extraction risk describes a trade-off: stay to chase more rewards while accepting fewer and riskier exits, or leave earlier with a lighter bag. “Safely” is a strategic choice about when and how to leave, not a promise that an exit will be uncontested or that your loot is protected from PvP or ARC.

The high-level trade-off remains useful context as of the Frozen Trail 2.0 update released October 8, 2026. That update adds content including Pendola Pass and new map conditions, enemies, weapons and items. Its reviewed notes do not describe replacing the basic main-exit-versus-hatch trade-off. Exact active exits and routes can still vary by map, condition and update, so use the current in-game map for your raid rather than assuming a fixed route.

The ARC Raiders Dev Team summarized the main-exit risk this way: “Our main extraction points have no direct cost to use, but they draw a lot of attention from both ARC and other players.” That captures the central choice: the ordinary exit does not consume a key, but the fact that it is an obvious way out can make its approach and use contested. The point is not to avoid every possible encounter—there is no supported way to promise that—but to avoid taking unnecessary extra risks with a haul you already value.
Choose between a main extraction point and a Raider Hatch
The two supported exit types offer different costs and exposure. Neither should be treated as an automatic answer: the right choice depends on the available marker, whether you have a Hatch Key, how much you are carrying, and whether the exit suits your squad.
| Exit | Cost or requirement | What to expect | When it may make sense |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main extraction point | No direct cost. | Attracts attention from ARC and other Raiders. Available extraction options diminish as the session continues. | Use it when an active main exit is a practical route and you would rather save a key or do not have one. |
| Raider Hatch | Requires a Hatch Key, which can be purchased, crafted or found. | Designed to be relatively quiet and quick, and placed in lower-traffic areas. Squad use has a three-for-one trade-off. | Consider it when you have a key and its lower-traffic design and squad economics fit the situation. |
These descriptions come from Embark’s design explanation, not a guarantee that every hatch’s placement or sound profile is identical after later patches. A hatch is not free: spending the key uses a resource that may matter more on another run. Nor is a main exit automatically the wrong choice simply because it attracts attention. It costs no direct in-game resource, and a reachable active marker may be preferable to detouring for a hatch.
How the hatch trade-off affects a squad
Embark describes hatch use with a squad as a “3 for 1 deal.” Treat that as a group-economics issue, not as a universal recommendation for one player to abandon the others. Before committing, agree who will use the hatch, who will take another exit, and whether splitting up is worth the risk to the group. The key requirement and the squad trade-off can make a hatch a poor fit even when it appears quieter.
In practice, make the squad decision before anyone starts moving toward the hatch. Confirm that the team understands the three-for-one framing, has a plan for anyone not using that route, and is willing to accept the consequences of dividing up if that is the plan. No source establishes that every squad composition or hatch situation has the same best answer, so do not assume that a hatch is automatically the team’s safest or most efficient exit. If the group cannot agree on a plan, a reachable main extraction point may be the simpler option—though it still attracts attention.
How to compare the two exits for your haul
Start with what you actually have, not with a generic rule that one exit is always superior. A player carrying little may be comfortable using a main point and keeping a Hatch Key for another raid. A player who has found something particularly valuable may judge the hatch’s intended lower-traffic, quick-exit design worth the key, if a hatch is active and the squad can use it sensibly. These are examples of weighing costs, not guarantees about the result of a specific raid.
Distance and availability matter too. The official guidance supports checking the map and recognizes that extraction choices diminish over time, but it does not provide a universal route or a fixed time at which a particular exit disappears. Do not cross a map based on a memorized assumption that an exit will still be there when you arrive. Compare the active markers shown in your current session with the route you can actually take, and reassess if the situation changes.

A step-by-step extraction plan
- Check the map early. Use the map screen to identify the exits shown as available in your current raid. Do not assume every map or condition has the same exits. Pick a plausible destination before your bag is valuable enough to make a late decision costly.
- Set a leave threshold. Decide what would make you head out: for example, securing a particularly valuable find, taking damage that makes another search unattractive, or hearing activity that changes the risk of continuing. These are practical decision cues, not game rules or guarantees.
- Compare the route with the haul. If a main extraction is available and you prefer to conserve a key, weigh its attention risk against what you stand to gain by waiting. If you have a Hatch Key, consider whether the hatch’s intended lower-traffic, quick-exit design justifies spending it and whether its squad trade-off works for your group.
- Reassess when the situation changes. Check the map and your surroundings again after a valuable find, injury, noisy encounter or change in nearby threats. A route that made sense earlier may no longer be the best option; the number of available extractions steadily diminishes over a session.
- Approach with care. Exits attract attention, so avoid adding unnecessary noise on the way in and pay attention to nearby ARC and player activity. Check your surroundings before committing to the final approach. These are common-sense tactics based on the documented exposure around exits, not a way to clear or secure them with certainty.
- Leave when the next search is not worth the risk. If the likely value of another search is lower than the risk of losing the loot already in your bag, take the exit you have chosen rather than extending the raid by habit.
Make the map check a repeated decision, not a one-time task
Checking early is useful because it gives you a candidate route before you have a reason to panic. It is not a promise that your first choice will remain available or remain sensible. The official explanation says the number of available extractions steadily diminishes the longer you stay, but it does not state a universal countdown or say that every exit disappears on the same schedule. Treat your initial choice as a working plan, then return to the map when you secure something valuable or conditions change.
A practical sequence is: note the active options, choose a likely exit, then ask whether the added value of another search still outweighs the risk of continuing. If the answer changes, change your plan. This can mean leaving earlier than you expected, switching to another shown option, or deciding that a hatch key is worth spending. It does not mean blindly following the nearest marker: you still need to consider the cost, the group, and the possibility of attention near the exit.
Keep the approach cautious without treating tips as guarantees
Because main exits attract attention, it is sensible to pay attention to the surroundings and avoid unnecessary noise as you approach. This is cautious play based on the documented risk at exits, not a developer-confirmed recipe for countering other players. The reviewed sources do not establish that a particular grenade, route trick or sequence of actions can prevent camping or guarantee a clear extraction. Be wary of advice that promises a certain way to secure an exit, especially when it comes from a player guide that may become outdated after an update.
A fan-made guide also recommends healing before an approach, checking alternatives and clearing nearby ARC. These are player tactics, not official rules or assurances. If you use such advice, apply it according to your current situation and game state rather than assuming it will make the exit safe. No amount of preparation changes the core principle: use the map and your judgment, but leave room for threats you cannot control.
When should you leave with your loot?
Use the value of the current haul as your reference point. Early in a run, continuing to search may be reasonable if you have little to lose and the available routes still suit your plan. Once you have something you would be upset to lose, the question changes: would another search improve the haul enough to justify the added exposure and the possibility of fewer exits?
Embark frames this as choosing between chasing more rewards and accepting riskier, dwindling exits, or escaping earlier with a lighter bag. That is a decision about expected value, not a rule that every player must leave after one item. If another search is attractive, weigh it against the loot already secured and the exit choices still visible in your session. If your current haul matters more than a possible extra find, leaving is the more conservative decision.
Leave after a meaningful find
A valuable item can make an otherwise ordinary raid worth bringing home. Set your own “leave now” threshold so you are not forced to make that decision only after collecting still more. The threshold is personal: one player may head out after a single important item; another may accept more risk. The key is to compare the next search against the loot already secured rather than treating time spent in the raid as a reason to stay.

For example, if you have just found an item that makes the run worthwhile to you, pause before automatically moving to another search area. Ask whether the next likely reward would genuinely change your outcome or whether it is merely tempting because you are already out in the raid. This example is a decision prompt, not a claim about the value of any specific item. No source establishes a universal inventory threshold or a particular loot value at which every player should extract.

An injury, a noisy encounter or nearby activity can change the cost of searching. Recheck your options instead of following a plan made before the situation changed. If the remaining route looks worse and your existing haul matters, leaving sooner may be the better risk decision. This does not mean the route is clear; it means you are avoiding an extra search whose likely reward no longer justifies the danger.
Likewise, do not stay merely because an exit seems inconvenient after you have already spent time exploring. The official design framing explicitly recognizes the choice between continuing for additional rewards and taking an earlier escape. Time already spent is not loot you can recover by staying longer. Make the decision from the current state of your haul and the options still shown, rather than from the effort you have already invested.
Do not wait for a made-up countdown
Embark says the available extraction options steadily diminish the longer a player stays, but its cited explanation does not give a universal fixed timer or countdown. Do not plan around a specific number of minutes based on that statement. The practical response is to check the in-game map and avoid assuming that waiting will preserve every option.
This distinction matters because a general statement about options decreasing over time is not a precise schedule for your particular raid. The available sources do not give a fixed timer, exact sequence, or guarantee that waiting will preserve access to a preferred exit. Use what the current map shows and make your own leave threshold; do not build a plan around an invented countdown.

The guide’s list can help you recognize the names of reported markers, especially if you are learning a map, but it remains a secondary source. The October 7, 2026 update date tells you when that guide was updated, not that its list is guaranteed to remain current after later game changes. Frozen Trail 2.0, released October 8, 2026, includes a new map and map conditions among other additions; the update context is another reason to verify active options in your own raid instead of assuming a previous list covers every situation.
Do not treat an example list as an exhaustive directory. The available official and secondary sources give specific Riven Tides examples—Wharf, Railyard and Transfer Depot for Raider Hatch markers, and Wreckage and Customs House for Cargo Elevator markers—but do not establish that all of them will be active in every session. If your map shows something different, use the current marker rather than the guide. Exact routes and active exits are the kind of details that can change; the broad decision between a free main point and a keyed hatch is more durable than any memorized route.

Some event objectives have their own extraction requirement. In the Forgotten Relics event, relic Merit value varies by rarity, and you must successfully extract with the relic in hand to claim its Merits. The rule is specific to that event; do not assume it applies to all loot or every event.
Embark’s June 16, 2026 Live Update 1.33.0 is the source for the Forgotten Relics requirement. If you are carrying a relic for its Merit reward, include the item itself in your extraction decision: finding it is not enough to claim those Merits if you do not bring it out.
This is a useful case where the reason for extracting affects the decision. If the goal is to claim Forgotten Relics Merits, the relic has to leave the raid with you; the Merit value also depends on rarity. That does not mean all loot uses the same event rule, and no source establishes any universal claim that failing to extract forfeits every kind of progression or reward. Keep the advice scoped: for the Forgotten Relics event, successful extraction with the relic in hand is required to claim its Merit.

Embark reported that high-level players used Raider Hatches 40% of the time in the TT2 test. That is a historical test observation, not a current live-game usage rate, and it does not establish that hatches are safer or better for every player. The available official material does not establish a current population-wide extraction success rate, death rate, loot-loss rate or hatch usage rate, so none should be inferred from that test figure.

The number is useful only with its context intact: it describes high-level players in TT2, not all players and not current usage in October 2026. It may illustrate that experienced players did use the hatch option during that test, but it is not a recommendation to choose hatches 40% of the time, nor evidence that a hatch improves an individual player’s odds. The official design post discusses the hatch’s intended characteristics and its key and squad trade-offs; make your decision from those mechanics and the live situation, not from a historical percentage treated as a rule.

Common extraction mistakes
- Waiting until your bag is valuable to look for an exit. Identify a plausible route earlier, then reassess it as the raid changes.
- Assuming a free exit is a safe exit. Main extraction points have no direct cost, but they draw attention from ARC and other players.
- Spending a Hatch Key without weighing its use. A hatch requires a key; its relatively quiet and quick design does not make the choice costless or risk-free.
- Assuming the whole squad can use a hatch without a trade-off. Account for Embark’s three-for-one squad framing and agree on a group plan before committing.
- Staying because you have already spent time searching. Time already invested is not a reason to risk a haul when another search no longer looks worthwhile.
- Trusting an old map list over the live marker. Use guides as orientation, then confirm what is available in the current raid.
- Treating an event objective like ordinary loot. For Forgotten Relics Merits, successful extraction with the relic in hand is required.
- Assuming there is a universal extraction countdown. The official statement is that available extractions diminish over time; it does not give a fixed timer.
- Confusing a design intention with a promise. Hatches are described as relatively quiet, quick and lower-traffic, but that does not make every hatch identical or guaranteed safe after updates.
- Reading the 40% TT2 statistic as current behavior. It was a historical test observation about high-level players, not a live usage rate or success-rate statistic.
Bottom line for a run in progress
Check the map before you are loaded down, choose an exit that fits your resources and group, and keep reevaluating the value of staying against the risk to your current haul. A main point saves a key but attracts attention; a Raider Hatch costs a key and has a squad trade-off. Neither guarantees a safe trip out, so the most reliable strategic decision is to leave when the loot you already have matters more than the next search.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a guaranteed safe extraction in ARC Raiders?
No. Main extraction points draw attention from ARC and other Raiders. Raider Hatches are designed to be relatively quiet and quick and placed in lower-traffic areas, but they still are not a guarantee that you will get out uncontested.
Do Raider Hatches cost anything to use?
A Raider Hatch requires a Hatch Key, which can be purchased, crafted or found. Consider whether spending the key makes sense for the haul and your squad; a hatch is not a free alternative.
Can my whole squad extract through a Raider Hatch?
Embark describes hatch use with a squad as a “3 for 1 deal,” so it has a squad trade-off. Agree on who will use the hatch and what the rest of the group will do rather than assuming it is the best exit for everyone.
How long do I have before extraction points disappear?
The official explanation says available extractions steadily diminish as a session continues, but it does not give a universal fixed timer or countdown. Check the current in-game map instead of planning around a made-up number of minutes.
Where are the extraction points on each map?
Check the active markers on your in-game map; exits can vary by map, condition and update. A fan-made guide updated October 7, 2026 lists reported locations, including Riven Tides examples, but its lists may not be exhaustive or permanently current.
Do I have to extract with Forgotten Relics to get Merit?
For the Forgotten Relics event, yes: Merit value varies with relic rarity, and you must successfully extract with the relic in hand to claim those Merits. That rule is specific to that event.
