To unlock reusable furniture designs in Once Human, farm furniture formulas—not just pieces of furniture you can place. Search residential and office containers for formula drops, recycle duplicate formulas at the Designer Workbench, and check whether Market Bounties or other active rewards currently list the designs you want. Formula drops are random; no official drop rate or guaranteed yield is established.
Furniture formulas and furniture objects are different
Players often call these unlocks furniture blueprints, but Once Human commonly refers to them as furniture formulas. Learning a formula unlocks a reusable craft or design. Picking up a finished furniture object gives you an item to place; it does not, by itself, unlock that item’s recipe. For the farming methods below, look for formula rewards rather than simply collecting placeable objects.
Farm lootable containers in residential and office areas
Search small lootable containers such as cabinets, desks, and closets in residential and office locations. A community route guide describes formula-eligible containers and a route centered on Blackfell, but it does not establish a guaranteed formula per run or a universally best route. Your time will vary depending on whether you stick to eligible containers or also open weapon and gear crates and fight enemies.
The same guide gives route-time estimates of 1–2 hours for new players, about 40–45 minutes for experienced players, and about 30 minutes or less for advanced runners. These are the guide author’s estimates, not official statistics or a promise of farming yield; route scope, combat, and gear affect the time. The guide was updated December 10, 2025. Read the community route guide; a separate community guide also discusses formula containers. See the container guide.

Recycle duplicate formulas at the Designer Workbench
If you have duplicates, a community guide describes dismantling them into fragments and spending six fragments on a random formula roll. It also describes a 15-fragment roll that excludes common outcomes and guarantees at least uncommon rarity. These costs and pool details come from a player guide updated December 10, 2025, not a current official rate guarantee. Check the options and costs shown in your current workstation interface before dismantling formulas or spending fragments.
This is a way to put unwanted duplicates toward another formula, not a way to choose a specific design: the result remains random. The guide’s workstation details are useful context, but the live interface is the authority for what is currently available.

- People are strange: we looked through the Internet and collected a load of totally-genuine, totally-weird web searches. So we decided to make a party game out of it.
- Think like a human: each round, you'll hear the first half of an internet search, like 'did dinosaurs...'. It's your job to try and figure out what came next
- Did dinosaurs go to heaven?: The higher your answers rank, the more points you'll score for you and your team - so don't be afraid to think a little weird.
- Easy to learn, quick to play: a party game for adults and teenagers, this one takes about 2 minutes to learn and 20 to play. Recommended for 3+ players and ages 14+.
- What people said: 'for once you'll be glad you didn't delete your internet history!' - @tabletopmag
Check Market Bounties for listed formula rewards
A player report says version 2.3.6 added 22 formulas to the rewards for the Market Bounty Rare Abode Chest. The poster reports a chance to receive the chest from Tier 4 bounties and a guarantee from Tier 5 bounties. This is a player-reported lead, not an official current reward table. Before spending bounty materials, inspect the active bounty reward preview to confirm whether the chest and formulas are still listed for your game version and season.
The same player said collecting that particular batch of 22 formulas took nearly three months. That is one person’s experience, not a completion estimate or drop-rate statistic. Read the player report.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

Look for other active rewards and redemption options
Community sources also point to NPC vendors, treasure chests, event and challenge rewards, currency redemption menus, and player trading. These options can depend on current stock, season, server circumstances, or the reward pool. Check the relevant in-game vendor, event, challenge, and redemption menus for the exact item and its current cost; do not assume a past listing is still available. Community route guide and container guide.
Official update notes offer a version-specific example: the March 26, 2025 version 1.4.4 announcement says Stardust Dye could be redeemed with Mitsuko’s Marks and that furniture formulas were part of the Crimson Moon event. It also places the Designer’s Workstation unlock under Memetics > Building > Designer’s Workstation and describes a Furniture Dye interface there. These notes explain that formulas and workstation features have appeared in event and crafting systems; they do not establish that those rewards remain available now. Read the official version 1.4.4 announcement.

| Overworld container looting | Broad and random | Time spent searching; route time varies with route scope, combat, and gear | Look for formula-eligible containers; no official drop rate or guaranteed yield is established. Community route guide |

A practical routine for formula hunting
- Identify the unlock you need. Confirm that you want its formula, not only a furniture object to place.
- Search residential and office areas. Loot cabinets, desks, closets, and similar small containers; use a route as a guide, not as a guaranteed-drop circuit.
- Check the Designer Workbench. Review current fragment costs and conversion options before recycling duplicate formulas.
- Inspect targeted reward menus. Check the active Market Bounty preview, vendors, events, challenges, and redemption menus for the specific formula or reward chest.
- Set expectations around randomness. No authoritative formula drop-rate figure or measured farming yield is established, and duplicates can occur.
