Where to find Leapers
Leapers are reported on four maps: Dam Battlegrounds, The Spaceport, The Blue Gate, and Buried City, according to the ARC Raiders Wiki. On Dam Battlegrounds, PC Gamer’s Trophy Display guide points to three places to search:
- Hydroponic Dome Complex
- The elevator at Water Treatment Control
- Red Lakes Balcony
These are search leads, not guaranteed spawns in every raid. Spawn locations can change with updates.
How to fight a Leaper
Use cover to manage its leap
Start near a sturdy building or other substantial cover rather than engaging in open ground. GameSpot recommends using a doorway to limit the Leaper’s ability to reach you with its jumps. Keep the cover between you and the enemy when you need to reset, and be ready to move away after it lands; the leap can deal heavy damage, and a short-range shockwave can hurt nearby players. Aim for the legs and face
GameSpot recommends heavy-ammo shots to the legs and face to break armor. The legs can be destroyed individually, so teammates should focus fire on the same leg before switching to the face. Avoid standing close to the Leaper after a landing, when its shockwave is a threat.
Fire and grenades are other options
The ARC Raiders Wiki and the unofficial Arc Raiders Atlas also recommend fire; Atlas additionally lists grenades and medium or heavy ammunition. Treat these as community-database suggestions, not verified damage comparisons. The available guides do not establish a fixed shot count, grenade count, or kill time, so there is no reliable universal weapon or exact recipe to promise.

Why hunt a Leaper?
The ARC Raiders Wiki lists the following as possible Leaper drops:
- Leaper Pulse Unit
- ARC Motion Core
- ARC Circuitry
- Advanced ARC Powercell
- ARC Flex Rubber
- ARC Performance Steel
- Explosive Compound
- ARC Alloy
- Mechanical Components
- ARC Powercell
These are possible drops, not guaranteed quantities. Leaper Pulse Units have a specific project use: PC Gamer reports that the “Ferocious Foes” stage of the Trophy Display project requires ten. Check current in-game requirements if you are collecting for a project, since game details can change with patches.

How to apply this advice
- Choose one of the four reported maps; on Dam Battlegrounds, check the three named locations as route leads.
- Before engaging, identify a building entrance or substantial cover that gives you room to break line of attack.
- Use heavy ammunition and aim for the legs and face. If teammates are present, coordinate on one leg first.
- After each leap and landing, avoid lingering nearby; use cover and regain distance before resuming fire.

For another tactical description, GameSpot’s Billy Givens writes: “The best way to handle this enemy is to find a building with a door you can stand inside to keep the Leaper from reaching you with its jumps, then unload heavy ammo shots on its legs and face to break off its armor.”
