During a Fortnite match, the Session ID appears as a string of letters and numbers to the right of your player name. To watch a live game using that ID, open the Replay browser and choose View Streaming Replay. If you want to watch one of your own recent matches instead, use Career > Replays from the lobby.
Find the Session ID during a match
- Join or spectate the Fortnite game whose session you want to identify.
- Look to the right of your player name. Epic describes the Session ID as an alphanumeric string displayed there.
Epic’s Replay feature guide documents this location. The ID is not the same thing as a saved replay in your personal game history.

Use the ID to watch a live game
- Open Fortnite’s Replay browser.
- Select View Streaming Replay to view a live game when you have its Session ID.
This streaming option is for viewing a current game; it is distinct from opening a replay file saved from an earlier match.
Watch one of your recent matches
From the lobby, open Career > Replays. The replay list contains recent gameplay captures. Select a replay to play it, rename or delete it, save it locally, or open its replay folder. Epic Support identifies the replay system as the current way to check game history in its game history instructions.

Watch a competitive tournament replay
For an official competitive replay, use the tournament’s leaderboard rather than the live-game Session ID route:
- Open Compete and select the tournament.
- Open Leaderboard and choose the player.
- Open Match History, select the match, then choose Watch.

Replay availability and compatibility
- Epic Support lists replays as available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The feature is not available for Fortnite: Save the World.
- A replay can be played only in the Fortnite version in which it was recorded. After an update, an older replay may stop working; Epic says renaming it in the replay browser can preserve it.
- Epic lists a maximum of 10 saved replays on PlayStation and Xbox, and unlimited saves on PC. Its support page estimates an entire-match replay file at about 10 MB. These are vendor-published figures and may change.
Epic’s previous-update replay support page explains the platform and version limitations. Its developer guide also notes that replay data simulates a network stream, so game changes can make older replay data or its context incompatible.
