PlayStation’s official support pages reviewed do not document a built-in feature to make a missing DualSense beep or show its location. Start by searching where you last used it and the nearby places it could have been moved or covered. If it remains missing, replacing it is the fallback—not a way to track the original.
How to search for your lost PS5 controller
- Start where you last played. Check around the sofa, bed, desk, or console. Look between and beneath cushions, under furniture, beneath blankets, and inside nearby bags or laundry.
- Search one small area at a time. Use a flashlight to check dark spaces, and move systematically so you do not keep revisiting the same spots.
- Ask anyone who was in the room. They may have moved the controller to make space, put it away, or carried it to another room.
These are practical search suggestions, not manufacturer-prescribed recovery steps. If you remember carrying the controller elsewhere, expand the search to the places you visited afterward.
Can my PS5 make the controller beep?
The PlayStation controller support material reviewed covers pairing, reset, and troubleshooting, but does not document a command to ring or locate a missing DualSense. The PlayStation Controllers Support page therefore does not provide a documented remote-ping method.
The PS button is part of the physical setup process: PlayStation’s instructions say to connect the controller to the PS5 with a USB cable and press the button to pair it. That instruction is not a way to make a misplaced controller reveal its location. See the DualSense Wireless Controller Instruction Manual.

Can I find it with the PlayStation App?
The official PlayStation App support page describes features such as messaging, purchases, and remote downloads; it does not document a feature for locating a DualSense. The official sources reviewed do not establish a PlayStation console or app locator for a missing controller.
What if I cannot recover it?
If a systematic search does not turn it up, a replacement PS5 DualSense wireless controller is the direct fallback. PlayStation identifies the DualSense as the PS5 controller in its controller support information and instruction manual. A replacement lets you use the console again; it does not locate or recover the missing controller.
