Choose those requirements first, then search Blizzard’s Classic forums and guild listings, your realm’s forum, and version- or realm-specific Discord communities. Before joining, confirm the group’s actual play times, attendance expectations, voice-chat habits, and attitude toward new or returning players.
Start with the Classic version you actually play
World of Warcraft Classic is not one single environment. Blizzard’s current support overview lists Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Anniversary Classic, and Mists of Pandaria Classic among the active Classic versions. The list can change as releases progress, so check the version selector in the Battle.net game client and Blizzard’s live support pages before searching for a guild.

A community can be busy and welcoming yet still be useless to you if it recruits for a different version. Put the exact version in every search and recruitment message. A post that says only Classic may refer to a different ruleset, progression phase, or realm group.
| Version label | What to confirm before joining |
|---|---|
| Classic Era | Confirm that the guild plays the permanent Era version rather than a seasonal or progression release. |
| Season of Discovery | Ask whether recruitment is for the current phase and whether characters, activities, and schedules match that phase. |
| Anniversary Classic | Verify the current Anniversary realm list and whether the guild is still active after its launch period. |
| Mists of Pandaria Classic | Check that the group is recruiting for this version rather than an earlier Classic release. |
Do not infer current availability from an old announcement. Realm names, transfers, progression stages, and even which versions are selectable can change. The live launcher and current support information are the authority for what you can select today.

Pick realm rules before you pick a guild
Realm rules shape everyday interaction more than a guild description does. Blizzard defines the principal Classic realm types this way:
| Realm type | Blizzard’s intended rules | Best fit for |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | The standard ruleset. | Players who want ordinary questing and grouping without an always-on player-versus-player environment. |
| PvP | Players can attack one another under the realm’s player-versus-player rules. | Players who actively want the tension and competition of contested play. |
| RP | The realm is intended for in-character role-play. | Players who enjoy character-driven conversation, events, and a shared setting. |
| Hardcore | A one-life challenge with character consequences after death. | Players who want careful routes, cautious grouping, and high stakes. |
Realm type is not a personality test. A Normal realm can contain a highly scheduled raid guild, while a PvP realm can contain relaxed social players. Treat the type as a baseline, then investigate the individual community.
Hardcore requires a separate risk conversation
Blizzard’s Hardcore rules statement says, “Death on Hardcore realms is permanent on that realm.” That single rule changes how members evaluate pulls, escort quests, dungeon groups, disconnect risks, and advice from strangers. If you are considering Hardcore, ask whether a guild has clear safety practices and whether its members respect conservative play. Confirm the current rules in-game before relying on an older explanation of what death, grouping, or transfers do.

Use Blizzard’s official community map first
Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Classic community-resources page is the most reliable starting map because it points to the places Blizzard expects Classic players to use. It includes official general discussion, bug-report, new-guild-listing, and realm forums, along with links to WoW Classic Reddit and a range of guides, tools, and podcasts.
Guild-listing and recruitment forums
Search the new-guild listings for posts that identify the version, realm, faction, region, and activity. Read the entire post rather than relying on its title. A guild may have started as a leveling group and now focus on raiding, or it may advertise as social while requiring near-perfect attendance.
Use the date of the latest reply as a practical activity check. A polished post with no recent responses may describe a guild that is no longer recruiting. Conversely, a short recent post with several members answering questions can indicate a healthier conversation.

Realm forums
Realm forums narrow the search to the people you can actually meet in game. Look for recurring guild names, event announcements, and replies from members rather than treating one advertisement as a complete picture. Check that the thread matches your faction and region; a realm name alone does not tell you whether a post is for your side or time zone.
Reddit, guides, and podcasts
Broader community and learning resources help you understand terminology and discover groups that do not use Blizzard’s forums. Use them as discovery and orientation tools, not as proof that a guild is good. Recommendations can outlive the version or phase they described, so verify every recommendation against the current client and realm.
Find version- and realm-specific Discord communities
Discord Discovery lists communities organized around particular Classic versions and realms, including a Hardcore community. These directories are useful for fast discussion, group coordination, event notices, and recruiting channels. They are directories, not quality rankings.
Discord says Discovery member counts are approximate and can be up to one week out of date. A large number therefore does not prove that a server is active during your hours, friendly to newcomers, or recruiting for your faction. Open the server and inspect recent messages, event posts, and unanswered questions.
What a Hardcore listing can tell you
The listing for the Hardcore Community describes discussion, guild and group discovery, safety practices, leveling builds, tips, and world-buff alerts. It labels itself English-language and presents itself as an official Discord for WoW Classic Hardcore realms. Those are useful signals about intended scope, but the listing is the community’s own description, not an independent guarantee of current recruitment or culture.

- Read the welcome and rules channels to see whether the server covers your exact version and realm.
- Check the date of recent messages in recruiting, looking-for-group, and event channels.
- Look for your region, faction, language, and time zone in active posts.
- Note whether questions receive patient answers or are ignored.
- Read moderation rules before posting personal information or joining voice chat.
Define your own playstyle in concrete terms
Before comparing communities, write a short profile. Vague goals such as wanting a friendly guild produce vague matches. State what you can offer and what you need.

Compare communities on the questions that determine fit
Use the following checklist for every candidate. Ask the same questions so that you compare communities rather than comparing marketing language.
| Axis | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Version and realm | Is recruitment for my exact version, realm, faction, and realm type? |
| Region and language | Which regions and languages are active during my normal hours? |
| Schedule | What days, start times, time zone, and expected duration apply to events? |
| Activities | Does the group emphasize leveling, dungeons, raiding, PvP, role-play, helping new players, or conversation? |
| Attendance | Are events drop-in, sign-up based, or subject to minimum attendance requirements? |
| Voice chat | Is voice required for every event, required only for raids, or entirely optional? |
| Social pace | Is chat quiet, highly active, text-centered, or voice-centered? |
| Leadership | Who organizes events, and how are disagreements or absences handled? |
| Current activity | Are there recent posts, replies, calendar events, and people online at my play time? |
| Safety | For Hardcore, do the group’s routes, advice, and grouping habits respect one-life stakes? |
Do not accept an answer such as “we do everything.” Ask for the last two weeks of actual events or a typical weekly schedule. Specific examples reveal whether a group’s stated focus is real.

Match communities to common playstyles
Solo-first players who want occasional help
Look for a social guild that welcomes drop-in participation and does not require every member to attend scheduled events. Ask whether guild chat remains active outside raid nights and whether members group for quests or low-level dungeons. A group that advertises an active social guild but only speaks in voice during progression raids may not meet your needs.
Players who want to level together
Find out whether members start characters around the same time and whether leveling groups continue after the first zones. Ask how the guild handles different play speeds. A community that requires everyone to stay at one pace can become frustrating when work or family interrupts your schedule.
Dungeon-focused players
Ask which roles are most needed, how groups form, and whether the guild supports repeated runs or only occasional quests. Confirm whether the advertised dungeon activity is for your version and level range rather than a different phase.

Raid-focused players
Request the exact raid days, time zone, sign-up process, attendance threshold, loot process, and progression goal. Ask what happens when you miss a week. A fixed schedule is valuable only if it fits your actual availability.

PvP-oriented players
Confirm the realm type, faction balance as members experience it, and whether the community organizes battlegrounds, world PvP, or both. Ask whether participation is competitive, instructional, or simply social. PvP terminology can hide very different expectations.
Role-players
On an RP realm, ask how much in-character play is expected, whether events are scheduled, and whether the community welcomes beginners. Some groups prefer long-form storytelling, while others use occasional character events alongside ordinary questing.
Hardcore players
Prioritize safety culture over member count. Ask how the group handles risky quests, dungeon pulls, escort objectives, disconnects, and advice from unfamiliar players. A patient group that explains safer alternatives is a better fit than a large server that encourages unnecessary risks.
New or returning players
Look for communities that explicitly answer beginner questions and explain abbreviations without ridicule. Ask whether there is a mentoring channel, starter guild, or scheduled orientation. You should not need to pretend to know an old version’s terminology to be accepted.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.

Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
- Join the public channel first. Read the conversation and ask one practical question about your version and schedule.
- Attend a low-stakes activity. Choose leveling, a casual dungeon, or a social event before committing to a progression obligation.
- Observe how leaders communicate. Notice whether instructions are clear, mistakes are handled calmly, and quieter members receive room to participate.
- Check the real time commitment. Compare the advertised start and end times with what actually happens.
- Speak with several members. One recruiter’s personality is not the whole community.
- Decide against pressure. You can thank the recruiter and leave if the fit is wrong; a trial is not a promise of permanent membership.
Questions you can copy into a recruitment channel
Concrete wording gets useful answers faster than a general request. Adapt one of these messages:
Looking for a guild to join on [exact version], [realm], [faction], [region]. I play [days and time zone] and want [leveling, dungeons, raids, PvP, RP, or social chat]. Is voice optional, and what attendance do events require?I want to find a guild to play with on [realm]. I am new/returning and can play [schedule]. Do you have activities for my level range, and how do you help players who are learning?I am looking for an active social guild on [version and realm]. Is chat active during [your hours], and are members comfortable with casual, drop-in participation? For Hardcore: what safety practices do your groups use for dungeons, escorts, and risky quests? Are conservative routes supported?
Include the version, realm, faction, region, and schedule in the first message. Those details eliminate most mismatches before anyone spends time arranging a trial.
Recognize warning signs before you join
- Version ambiguity: the recruiter cannot name the exact version or realm.
- Outdated activity: the latest event or reply is old, despite claims of constant activity.
- Unclear obligations: leaders promise a casual culture but cannot explain attendance or raid requirements.
- Pressure to commit: you are pushed into a permanent role, paid service, or private conversation before seeing the community.
- Disrespect toward beginners: ordinary questions are mocked or answered with hostility.
- Unsafe Hardcore advice: members encourage avoidable risks or dismiss the consequences of a death.
- One-person dependency: all information comes from one recruiter and no other members participate.
A warning sign is a reason to ask another question, not automatic proof of misconduct. If answers remain evasive, keep looking.
Protect your account and personal information
Community servers are useful, but they are separate from Blizzard’s account systems. Use a Battle.net account with current security protections, do not share passwords or authentication codes, and be cautious with unsolicited files and links. A guild does not need your account credentials to invite you, organize a dungeon, or explain a build.
Keep personal details limited to what helps scheduling: region, time zone, preferred activities, and availability. You can decline voice chat, direct messages, or invitations to unrelated servers. Good communities respect a clear boundary.
What to do when the first community is wrong
Leaving a poor fit is normal. If you have made a commitment, give a brief explanation and state the date you will stop attending. You do not need to list every disagreement publicly. If the problem is only schedule, ask whether another event time or a social rank exists. If the problem is harassment, unsafe advice, or pressure, leave the server, use its moderation tools, and report serious violations through the appropriate platform channels.
When searching again, update your profile with the lesson you learned: an earlier start time, optional voice, fewer attendance obligations, a different language, or a stronger safety culture. Each trial should make the next search more precise.
Quick Recap
A final selection checklist
- I have confirmed the current Classic version in the game client.
- I know the realm type, realm, faction, and region.
- The community’s activities match what I actually want to do.
- The event schedule fits my real availability and time zone.
- I understand attendance, voice-chat, and role expectations.
- Recent posts or events show activity during my play hours.
- I have spoken with more than one member or attended a low-stakes activity.
- For Hardcore, the group’s advice and practices respect one-life consequences.
- I can leave easily if the culture or schedule does not fit.
The strongest signal is not a directory’s member count or an impressive recruitment banner. It is a recent, specific answer from people playing the same version, on the same realm, at the same times, with expectations you can meet.
