To find the Crusader set in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, start the Knights of the Nine questline in Anvil, complete the Pilgrimage at all nine wayshrines, then follow the relic quests. There are eight wearable pieces. The Blessing of Talos is the ninth relic if you count the power granted after collecting the gear; it is not an item of equipment.
How to start Knights of the Nine
The expansion may not add a journal entry or display a pop-up when it becomes available. Bethesda Support directs players to Anvil to ask around about the Knights; for a faster start, go to the Chapel of Dibella and speak to the man outside. Bethesda Support explains that Knights of the Nine does not create an immediate journal entry.
In the remaster, ask an NPC in Anvil about the Prophet, then speak with the Prophet outside the Chapel of Dibella. When prompted, answer, “No, I have no claim to fame.” He gives you a map to the wayshrines. PC Gamer’s remaster guide describes this sequence.
Complete the Pilgrimage and find the first relic
Visit one wayshrine for each of the Nine Divines: Akatosh, Talos, Julianos, Mara, Kynareth, Stendarr, Zenithar, Arkay, and Dibella. The relic hunt opens after you visit all nine. The Pilgrimage triggers a vision from Pelinal Whitestrake, directing you to his submerged shrine at Vanua.

At Vanua, take the Helm of the Crusader and loot Sir Amiel’s body for his journal and ring. The journal points you toward the Priory of the Nine; the ring unlocks its hidden basement. The full quest walkthrough is available at The Wizard’s Tower.

After proving yourself at the Priory, the wearable relic quests can be completed in any order, with two route dependencies: you need the Boots to reach the Mace, and the Greaves quest leads into the Sword quest.
What the Gauntlets’ curse does
Retrieving the Gauntlets applies the Curse of the Consumed, which continually drains Fatigue. This is an intended quest condition; the Blessing of Talos later cures it.

Crusader gear scales with character level. PC Gamer recommends waiting until level 21 or higher for the strongest versions, when the gear’s stats and enchantments reach their maximum. You can complete the Pilgrimage earlier and postpone the relic hunt; collecting the gear sooner trades maximum scaled strength for earlier access to the set.
