During the Rescue Mission quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must find and interact with exactly five green decorations inside Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair. The objects are a polar bear, hanging plant, lantern, potions and pedestal. Two are on the left side of the room, two sit around the central counter and lava pit, and the final item is in the right corner.

Step-by-step route through the Mirror Lair
1. Check the left-corner couch for the green polar bear
After entering the lair, stay on the first floor and move toward the left corner. A couch sits near the stairs that lead toward Oogie Boogie’s wheel. The green polar bear is sitting on that couch. Approach it until the interaction prompt appears, then inspect it.

2. Inspect the hanging plant beside the stairs
Remain on the left side and look into the corner beside the stairs. The second target is a green hanging potted plant. It is easy to overlook because it occupies the stair-side corner rather than an open section of floor. Interact with the plant to register it.

From the stairs, scan the wall near the left-side counter. The green lantern hangs close to the counter displaying Snake and Spider Stew, with red and purple skeletons nearby. Because it is a wall decoration, look above counter height rather than only checking furniture surfaces. Activate the interaction prompt when you are close enough.

4. Search behind the central lava pit for the potions
Move toward the large lava pit in the middle of the room and look past it toward the counter. The green potions are on the counter beside the cash register, behind the pit from the room’s central approach. Walk around the obstruction if necessary so the counter and its interaction point are accessible, then inspect the potions.
5. Check the right corner for the green pedestal
Finish on the opposite side of the lair. In the right corner, look near a couch and the crafting station. The green pedestal is positioned there. Interact with it to complete the fifth investigation.

How to spot the decorations when they blend in
All five targets are green, but their visibility is inconsistent. Some glow a vivid neon green and stand out immediately; others are a darker green that blends into the lair’s ordinary scenery. Do not rely on color brightness alone. Sweep the room by surface and landmark: furniture in the left corner, the stair-side plant, the wall above the stew counter, the counter behind the lava pit and the right-side corner near crafting equipment.

- Look at walls as well as counters and couches; the lantern is mounted rather than placed on furniture.
- Move around the lava pit to reveal the cash-register counter and its potions.
- Wait for an interaction prompt at each object; seeing a green item is not enough to satisfy the objective.
What happens after the fifth interaction?
Once all five decorations have been inspected, the investigation objective is complete and Rescue Mission advances toward confronting Oogie Boogie about the Ghosties in the glowing decor. If the quest does not progress, revisit each location and confirm that you interacted with the object rather than merely approaching it. The five required items are fixed: the polar bear, plant, lantern, potions and pedestal.

Quest availability and timing
The Dreamlight Valley Wiki lists this objective as part of the Oogie Boogie event quest Rescue Mission. Its listing records an unlock date of October 14, 2026, and availability through November 4, 2026, provided the first quest in the sequence was accepted before the event is removed. Those dates are event-specific and may need to be rechecked after a game update, so an unavailable quest may reflect the event schedule rather than a missing decoration.
